True and true again but does he always give his all for the shirt ... I'm afraid not. Wilf does what Wilf wants. I'd swap him for Gallagher any day.

Wilf was great against Saints, working hard, scoring and making chances. Against Spurs he was woeful even before the sending off. The frustration is that we're seeing more of the latter these days (albeit not normally as bad as against Spurs) and less of the former. The Southampton performance still shows what an important player he can be which is what makes the whole thing so frustrating as fans. Despite that, until either Olise finds the confidence to blossom, Rak-Sakyi proves himself ready to step up, or Eze is ready to play regularly again he doesn't have a great deal of competition. This next month will show us whether we really are ready to move on without Wilf.

Without doubt we have some great youngsters coming through but hopefully they don’t morph into Mr Zaha. He could be an outstanding role model for these youngsters who could say in the future I played with Wilf who helped me so much. Instead I fear he will be remembered as a wasted talent with super bad attitude whio threw his toys out of the pram at every opportunity. Occasionally he shines now, Southampton etc but watching him he comes across as a very angry young man on the pitch and he is wasting a fabulous talent. He’s lost his chance because of this to get a big move so I hope he can reflect at the AFCON on becoming a better role model and laugh in the faces of opponents who wind him up

If Newcastle come in with silly money in January I believe we’ll let him go. We have younger, talented players that are hungry to bed into the team and Wilf’s petulant behaviour is frustrating everyone.

It has to be beyond frustration,.Right at the moment we are down to the bones with the squad, and points now are vital. Wilf knows that as well as anyone in the club.
Any player in our squad would know it. We all know what he has done at times, but as said he knew in our present predicament , staying on the pitch not just on Sunday , but in our next fixture was probably more ,or as important as anything else. I understand his frustrations he is seriously provoked, but he gets paid exceptionally well to keep playing , in particular at times likes these.

when the opposition know that a player has a low boiling-point, they will always target that.

Samir Nasri
Joey Barton
Roy Keane

good and bad players can suffer from this affliction. And an affliction it certainly is.

I think he does give his all for the shirt, I don't think his commitment to Palace is in question but he is silly with it at times and as another poster aluded to, he's old enough to know better.

He has ALWAYS been inconsistant. .

I too would thank him very much for his service, IF it was a straight swap for Gallagher. He's what we need right now and we have other players now that could cover Wilf, if they can step up and if wilf should leave.

Would have no problem with Wilf Staying though..

I don't think he was missed today, although against a very poor team.

I think it is very difficult to make any decisions based on playing the worst team in the PL. Having said that Edouard puts in a shift on that left side and looks pretty comfortable doing it too. When you think we have Eze, Olise, and Rak Sakyi who can play out wide as well, then maybe we do not need to rely on Zaha to the extent we have in the past.

I am impressed with Edouard, he is a talented player, maybe not as tricky as Zaha but quick feet and a decent footballing instinct as well.

We play better with Edouard on the left than when Wilf is there. He has lost his pace I am afraid.

There's no loyalty in football eh..

May I remind everyone that Wilf is still our second top goalscorer this season behind the phenomenon that is Conor Gallagher. Wilf may not be the winger who takes players on anymore but he is still the most impactful player that is under contract by Crystal Palace. Take CG away next season and Wilf is back to being our best.

Rewind back to the home game against Spurs and you'll see Wilf do the very same thing he did yesterday, he stayed on the pitch and he went on to play a huge part in winning us the game.

His theatrics are what makes him the player he is, he gets worked up and seems to play better, we've all seen this work in our favour in many games, unfortunately it did not yesterday, that's football. That's 2 reds in 262 PL games, where he's been kicked from pillar to post.. Get a grip guys..

Sometimes, maybe, but on far, far more occasions, once he gets wound up he loses focus and becomes less effective. \teams know this well and, to gain any advantage, they'll wind him up. Once they do that, leave the rest to Zaha: this is when Wilf Wilts, imo.

Lewndoswski is a fine role model: gets kicked to death but gets, up, carries on and sticks it to them where it matters - a proper pro, in short.

You can have the best ability in the world but if your temperament's wrong....

I find Wilf an embarrassment, at times and it's a real shame. Ability-wise I think he's the best player I've seen in a Palace shirt in all my years as a fan.
