Have to agree with most of this, not a great fan of watching women's football, but would rather watch it than I'm a Celebrity, Love Island and such like.

Also, have to disagree about David Pleat, of whom I think you are doing a major injustice.

For one, I cannot recall seeing him on TV, or equally heard him on the radio for the last five years. In my humble opinion, he was one of the best pundits out there.

To provide a counter point, my little girl is excited that women's football is getting more coverage and she has little interest in the men's game. There are now more girls playing football than ever before around the world and I think it's great they have some role models and can see there are opportunities if they work hard. What harm does it actually cause? Should all TV scheduling focus on the mainstream? What a bleak idea that would be: Mrs Brown's Boys presenting Great British Bake-off.

Personally I am not interested in women's football but when men's football accounts for 99%+ of coverage through most media channels does it matter if Lineker promotes an upcoming women's game, or SKY gives some viagra to an advert? If it were just about viewing figures we'd be heading for that Super League, with the likes of Palace and Burnley being shown on highlights reels at midnight on ITV3.

In terms of female pundits they all seem pretty knowledgeable and even better than some of the male ones (some of whom have the vocabulary of a pre-schooler). In a world in which Mark Lawrenson and Garth Crooks still get airtime and David Pleat gets pulled out of his tomb for major tournaments I don't think there can be too many complaints.

You are 100% right, it does no harm. I have sons, but if I had daughters I'd be championing woman's sport all day long.

I guess where it grinds people is the seemingly disproportionate (to income) coverage/promotion. No idea if that's factual or not.

Time will tell if the Women's game can make substantial leaps with big attendances and viewing figures.

I also agree on (some) of the female commentators too (but cant stand Alex Scott). Especially like Emma Hayes, and would have loved Norwich to have gone for her.

It's difficult to find anyone that does like Alex Scott. I refuse to watch any program that she's on

I couldn't think of anything worse on sports tv than watching women playing football. Generally the standard is rubbish but the goalkeepers take rubbish to the next level.

I am not against Women's sport being televised as sports such as golf can be as exciting as the mens game, as the women are generally as good but don't hit it as far, which is easily compensated for by playing a shorter course.

For some reason football just doesn't look right. As ever, the cynic in me says this is Sky finding cheaper and cheaper alternatives for filling their channels whilst ticking another politically correct box.

In short it will take a lot to make me a convert.

It’s sh*t. Bad enough having them commentating on the men’s game , when it comes up on the screen, natalie mason 500 goals in 120 games for England. Oh please f*ck off.
Giving opinions on where Kante is going wrong in a game v Man City.
On talk sport the other day they were saying that the women’s top league should have VAR , when they haven’t even got it in the championship, games played in front of tens of thousands of fans.
Flicked over to some top level women’s game the other day, they was saying how important it was to have the crowds back. There was no c*nt there, actually I take that back, everyone what was there must have been a c*nt.

Can't stand women commentators in men's games. Their higher pitched voices just drive me crazy!

They loved it when no one could have crowds because it covered up the lack of interest in the women's game. No doubt it was seen as an opportunity to push televised women's football, at a time when empty, echoey stadiums were the norm.

Surprised no one's mentioned England Ladies beating Latvia Ladies 20-0 last night.

I've never really been a supporter of equal pay but I've changed my mind. England's men should be paid the same as the women until they top their qualifying group with a goals for 53 goals against 0 after 6 games.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

Don't think anyone's interested. Mickey mouse football imo.

Could not agree more. Pleaty is being shown major disrespect. This is a man who used to spend his evenings driving round the streets of North London trying to spot female talent.

I don't have an issue with women's football. I think standards amongst the top International teams have improved enormously over the years.

However, it does the women's game no favours when there are regularly games with teams scoring 10 goals or more against very weak opposition.England's twenty against Latvia was a bit of a joke. I was also surprised to see the players celebrating each goal as if it was the winner - a bit of assumed nonchalance might not gone amiss after the 10th one went in!

Here is something on that from the Ireland manager. (11-0 against Georgia)
