He was quality when we had him. Got in the England team and single handedly ripped Germany apart. He's still young and played some of his best football for Palace and I think he would be available if we put in a decent enough bid in for him. Would you have him back?

I say he's who we really need. Yes I would have him back.

Cue uproar

Absolu-ley agree (I've jus- bus-ed a cer-ain key on my board). RLC is no- like any player we have in -ha- he can boss -he midfield bo-h cen-rally, defensively, and a--ackingly. -ha-'s wha- we needed las- season more -han CG or any-hing.

The package to bring him to Palace is too expensive. Even if he was available on a free his wages are not only hefty, they'd possibly break our wage structure.
From a financial point of view its a no.

If he was that good he’d be on the team sheet at Chelsea ... yes he was good a couple of seasons ago but he’s on very high wages and we have better options... he was also poor at Fulham....no way will he get back into the England squad...

Has nobody picked up on the fact, that he has stated(in click-bait) he doesn't want to leave Chelsea. Thread over?

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Fair point well made, I think the answer you are looking for is no. He has said it a few times. My guess he is a sit on the bench at big team rather than play at a smaller team sort of player.

If you can get Insert & symbols on your screen header you will find upper & lower case T in there - could be useful for some instances.

Prbably because he is injury prone so would rather be a bit part player earning a large wage with the opportunity to win something rather than play week in and week out at a mid level team.

There are a lot of good players at Chelsea that don't get a look in. So that's no litmus test.

Take Marc Guehi, didn't even manage to make 1 appearance for Chelsea. Now he's an England international and our captain.

I'm only going by what I've been told from the Chelsea side of the fence but if true (no reason to doubt) RLC's last contract was 150,000 a week plus bonuses. Chelsea would want 40m for him because he is still relatively young.
So if we were to sign him on a 3 year contract it would cost Palace 63m PLUS agents fees PLUS any bonuses he'd be entitled to should he perform well and not spend most of his contract on the treatment table like he has at Chelsea.
Then there is of course the other problem. Strong rumours circulating that he is currently refusing to leave Chelsea, even on loan!
