Fulham had loads of loanees last year most from abroad. I believe you can have 2 English loans there is a separate number for foreign loans. Does Scotland count as foreign? Different league, so yes.

Its a big loan fee, but he is very good player. So we could have two great wingers in Wilf and Lookman - they might try putting a few crosses in for CB and we could be onto something.

3.5 million loan fee !!!!! I dont know much about loan fees, but that sounds massively excessive to me. Plus £50k a week wages. That's about £2.5m so £6m all in. In fairness Benteke/Cabaye/Sakho/Wilf almost cots that much a year in wages, when you add on transfer fee it's not that bad. If RB put him on a 5 year contract, they are playing just over £4m a year for him.

If this was to happen I'd expect we'd also be looking to include an option to buy. I'd be very happy with him coming in.

I think it’s a low risk price to be fair maybe better than spending 12 million plus 3million wages to potentially sit on the bench for 60% of the season depending on many factors..would free up 20 million for eduourd

Agree the 'option to buy' fee at the end of the loan period and discount the £3.5m loan fee for this season. If no good, then only costs us the loan fee. Simples. Would prefer Lookman to the other options. Did well last season in a poor Fulham side, apart from his penalty. Definite upgrade on Townsend, whose passing completion rate was shocking, had no pace, and cut in on his left to balloon it over the bar too many times to mention. Some edge down the right would also take the pressure of Wilf to conjure something up.

As I've said elsewhere on this site, it is my understanding that we have already met with Lookman and not been impressed. I think the rumour re Nelson of Arsenal has more legs.

4 goals and 4 assists in 34 games for Fulham is a definite upgrade on Townsend. I've always thought he would end up at Palace at some stage, bit like Gallagher. Pardew had a £6 million pound bid rejected in summer of 2016, amazing really considering Charlton's previous owners, Koeman then bought him for a reported £10 million fee for Everton in January 2017.

Sorry if you've said this elsewhere. But were we not impressed by him personally or not impressed by the transfer demands? Edited by samprior (01 Aug 2021 4.46pm)
