Ah, Paul Weller, should've known, Mr Cool. Thank you fuzzy - nice one.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

I have been known to wear slacks and a sports jacket and in the dim and distant past some garish outfits which were retina scorchers.Certainly a noble head of hair oiled for the occasion in those halcyon days.

On occasions I used to treat my mane to 'Silvikrin' hair oil.
I recall the days when chaps used to use hair lacquer but these days are long past.

In terms of attire, when I venture out to a public house/restaurant I invariably wear a jacket and I have received compliments about my natty appearance which of course have been well received!
I do take a pride in my appearance !

Back in the the Day well the early 80's It was label city. I once spent a whole weeks wages on a Tacchini tracksuit ( I still have the top though I can't fit in it must have shrunk) I had Pringle jumpers and Lyle and scott roll necks along with Fila and Benetton tops and a leather hunter jacket. oooh those were the days, these nearly all ended up being worn to work and ruined on a building site. I then quickly evolved into a MOD style Thank you Mr P Weller of Woking. My wardrobe is now a mix of the two. When I worked in the office Pre lockdown. I always wore a white slim fit penny collar shirts with a slim tie with tie pin and cuff links. I also love a sharp suit and have a few Tonic ones from Jump the Gun. Working from home I tend to wear something like a Fred Perry, Levis and a pair of Sambas. For Mod inspired stuff Check out 157 shop near Portsmouth and Adaptor clothing [Link]

There is a great book about the 80's clothes and
Terrace fashion. Called.
Casuals: The Story of a Terrace Cult by Phil Thornton

I am now looking at buying some Peaky blinders inspired clothes as thats what my daughter wants at her wedding next year

I recall back in the 80s,men wearing 'Dickie bows' with the two ends joined together with velcro, and also shirts with a pin going through the collar at the front. These were called collar pins or collar bars.I possessed such shirts but have none at present.
All looked rather fashionable.
