Investigations into Johnson's various misdemeanours, if they cannot get away with the tories doing it themselves, are conducted by civil servants to show impartiality. But since Greenskill unfolding, how impartial are they, acting for private companies in some cases concurrently. They appear far too close to Ministers. Civil servants can access secrets and have to sign the official secrets act, too. Whitehall is becoming a really rotten place.

The media frenzy is hilarious. But they don't realise that very few pay them heed anymore. It's their own fault for the last few years of blatant bias and virtue signalling. We're (most of us) basically immune to what they say at all. It's the definition of herd immunity. They bombarded us with sh1t talk, we're now immune.

Yup I expect it from the tabloids but the heavyweights and the BBC are just as bad. For the last 2 days the BBC has ran this story as though it was fact yet Boris has denied it and they have failed to provide a name of anyone in the room to back it up. I don't call that good journalism.

People gave a massive sh*t when Diane Abbott drank a mojito on a train. It’s selective heed.

Whitehall is probably not as rotten as when Blair was in power

Labour have come out with no policies for the Hartlepool by election, neither an over arching plan to push for the local elections. Labour's only thing now is to personally attack Johnson ( I agree with earlier poster it is annoying to see BBC, ITV etc all pushing the story to the top with self righteous indignation, Reod on GMB basically a an acho chamber for Starmer ). IMHO, most voters in local elections who bother to turn out are interested in local issues and tend to know the candidates better. The ex Labour voters from the broken Red Wall are more interested in local bus services than who initially paid for the wallpaper in the renovation. It is a good pointer of the continuing arrogance of the Labour Westminster bubble that they think this is an issue of National concern. If Labour want to win back the Brexit voters they need to convince them that rejoining or getting closer to Europe will not happen under a future Labour govt. People understand that the UK would be in a terrible position as far as vaccinations are concerned if we were still in the EU and that single point is very strong
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

As I recall there was a day or two of twitter activity but it was not running for days and days as the lead news story so can't agree " massive s*** ". The Flanagan Group scandal involves much larger sums for example, so selectivity is always a factor. Just depends your point of view. Originally posted by DanH
