If, as usual, we do the next to no business in this January window, then the emphasis should be on sorting out the required contract renewals amongst the 15 players out of contract in the summer (including all the goalkeepers).

I agree with Sahko on £5.2 Million a year, but don’t forget Max Meyer who’s on roughly £6.5 million Plus Mr Glassman Wickham £3.12 million Imagine some of the improvements we could make by binning some of these salaries.

Two interesting young midfielders at Aberdeen. Lewis Ferguson and Ross McCrorie. Ferguson is a box to box in the young James McArthur mode. Reckon both are ready for the next stage and certainly Ferguson already getting international intetest is worth the investment.

would bite my hand off for Lewis Ferguson. sadly I think his next move will either be to Rangers (father and uncle both played there), or to a bigger English side. Hell of a talent he is already. Speaking of the Glasgow side, McCrorie is on currently on loan from Rangers, so he wouldn't be a possibility.

He looked useful, then had this dreadful injury. But he is approaching thirty so not exactly a young player with bags of resale value?

With Bentenke likely to be offered a new deal and Ayew on the books I think we'd be better off looking for a younger striker who can try and oust those in front of them. Dipping into the lower leagues for a player who can develop seems a better option to me if we aren't going to spend much. There would be less pressure as they would be coming in as one for the future rather than being expected to be the main man.

McCrorie is on loan at Aberdeen until the end of this season then they have to buy him (price and contract length all sorted).

Tosun at the right price would be a good buy - offers SO It is totally stupid to overlook any quality 30 year old who can do the business in order to bring down the average age - this can be achieved by bringing in a couple of promising youngsters and off loading the dead wood. Far too much importance is being attributed to the average age of the squad imo.

I don't think he's worth anything much more than a free, personally.
