Distribution to the lower leagues yes.

Reduce the EPL to 18 yes.

Add an EPL team to the play offs OK.

Create a permanent security council deal for 9 clubs feck right off!!

This is especially as 6 of the 9 can pass a vote. No surprise who they will be. Others are grumpy they include west ham and Southampton but they were only added as restricting the vote to the top would cause an even bigger outcry.

Actually those 3 would have little to no say whether or not say Everton win the league every year. And if west ham go down?

The problem is this crap has been dreamed up in the US where very successful sporting franchises operate without relegation or promotion. I can see them voting out this wonderful feature of our league.

Next a super league with other European giants. The 6 would break away leaving the 12 remaining teams twiddling their thumbs (regardless of league position) and all the big TV money going to the big 6.

This will happen .

1.The fundamental issue is how the PL support the EFL and that will be the focus of further discussions now that the PL clubs have rejected the Yanks' proposals (apparently unanimously)
2. Why reduce the PL to 18? The Spanish La Liga, the Italian Serie A and the French Ligue 1 ALL have 20 clubs. It's only the German Bundesliga of the big five European footballing nations that has 18. It's clubs like Palace who will suffer if the league is reduced. If anything should go it's the mickey mouse League cup.
3. The talk of A European Super league has been around for some time. If it happens I'm not convinced that all the TV money will follow it (perhaps quite a lot of it initially, but longer term?) For example, how many football fans of other clubs will be interested in it? I'm not even convinced that the fans of all the teams that will make up this league will want it when they realise that many of the traditional fixtures they've enjoyed over the years will disappear. Also how many of the fans of other English teams will bother to subscribe to BT/Sky/Amazon etc. to watch the Super league games? I don't know.
4. I, for one, whilst I enjoy watching the Champions League etc. on the rare occasions I get a chance, I'm far more minded to watch the matches in England, whatever league.
5. The creation of a European Super league should make it a more level playing field for the rest of the PL clubs and those Championship clubs which might be invited to step up to make up for the members that leave.
6. Finally, if the 'Big 6' disappear to such a league and the PL loses a significant amount of its TV money then the EFL will be in the mire because there won't be the same funding available to support them.

Football needs Independent Regulator

[Link]

I thought that was the FA but they seem to be doing sweet FA at the moment.

I noticed Andy Burnham is on this taskforce I would have thought his priority is looking after the good people of Manchester.

I wonder if the Transfer Window will come under pressure?

It occurs to me that if the pundits are correct and that many lower league clubs are in big financial trouble they may not be able to wait until the next appropriate transfer window.

Now one club on it's own may grumble but if a large enough group of clubs come together I can see the legality of the window being questioned especially if the club is in administration, the administrators will not give a stuff about football rules per se they will see an asset which they cannot sale and may force the issue.

I have always thought the transfer window was a restraint on trade and therefore questionable but I don't think it has been tested in law before. That may well happen over the next year.
