I wonder how many asylum seekers are living with Banksy? Most of these charity boats appear to be crewed by Germans who understand that these people will not stay in Germany but head for the UK. When the crew are interviewed you can see the goodness halo they emanate
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Remember the start of the lockdown the first to complain about tourists were the Cornish politicians. Something about the public resources being over stretched especially the NHS. Of course living in the SE we haven't a clue what their on about after all allowing in thousands of people each year is a good thing and doesn't impact on public services in the slightest. I had planned a holiday to Cornwall not now though when things get back to normal the same politicians will be moaning about the impact on the local economy. Edited by Badger11 (01 Sep 2020 8.11am)

Edited by Badger11 (01 Sep 2020 8.11am) The authorities here were concerned at the start of the pandemic that an unanticipated heavy surge of visitors, particularly second homeowners trying to escape the cities, would overwhelm the limited health resources, which would not be in anyone's best interests. We have moved on from there now and there have been a lot of tourists here in the past weeks. The difference this year being primarily that they are all UK based, whereas in normal years they arrive from all over the world.

What would the reaction be if asylum seekers started to arrive in their droves?

You ever met customers of the free NHS who could not speak a word of English ? I have encountered a few of them.
