One half of Croydon set to be happy if Sarr is bought but let’s hope it’s the Palace half not the manu half.

Check up the thread - I have said I want this to happen. However... This is how I am guessing it may be. We expressed an interest but were not prepared to pay the (then) asking price. Watford were and splashed out almost £30m. Move on a year... With an empty page before him, Sun "journalist" decided to add 2+2 to make 5. His knowledge of football is limited to watching the top 6 clubs on the telly, and he made a note of Sarr while watching Sky as the best of a bad bunch. So, when Watford go down, he sees a very expensive asset in the 2nd tier who someone "must" want. Sure enough, Manure come in but are knocked back and then lose interest. So, this guy simply sees that someone might want him, googles the player and sees that Palace were interested some time ago and - hey presto - a story! What he prints is then taken up and amplified by online bloggers, and the story thereby gains currency. Meanwhile, there has been literally no conversation between Palace and Watford/Sarr. The only problem is that fans will be gutted come Friday that he has not signed and will be angry with the club for something that was only ever, in effect, a product of the fertile imagination of an uninformed hack. Of course, I could be wrong.

There is always rampant speculation when the 'Window' is open with many works of fiction to rival Harry Potter.Shading of the truth and rambling farragos of nonsense are very much in evidence.

If a thread was started on this site of us wanting a Championship player you can almost guarantee that some media outlet will run the rumour as their own by tomorrow or Friday claiming that they have got the info from “their source”.
