Tough questions need to be asked but we don't need the badgering and hectoring we got during the election when some interviewers weren't even giving the politician time to answer. I got thoroughly fed up with that Paxman style of interview where it becomes all about the interviewer and not the interviewee. The BBC also has to be sensitive to the subject matter, people dying in their thousands and some journalist show boating. But yes they still need to ask the tough questions.

The balance is that a lot of this is public service information updates for our own individual benefit. Trying to nail spokesman with a killer question is pointless in my view, as the medics and politicians are trying to get a consistent message across and there is necessarily a fair amount of repetition. The questions and supplementaries at the daily press conference have not been very impressive in my opinion.

They just can't help themselves can they? The other day I made the point (on the coronavirus thread I think) that the BBC ruined a perfectly good story about the shambolic testing process by quoting an essential worker who turned out to be a Poundland manager, apparently they couldn't find a doctor or a nurse. Monday night Panorama ran a damming story about the PPE crisis, fair enough I am not going to defend the government, and who did they use to make their point? Yup 5 people who had close ties to the Labour Party (none of this mentioned in the program of course). This is an important story and for once even non Labour party supporters would agree the government has got it wrong. In that case why have they probably breached broadcasting guideline and produced a biased program when it wasn't necessary. I would be amazed if they couldn't have find a more balanced group who would have said the same thing but no the BBC just loves their friends on the left. Now the story will become about BBC bias, idiots. Edited by Badger11 (30 Apr 2020 8.21am)

I remember seeing John Pienaar at the Cup final wearing red and blue face paint. Which was nice. Laura Kuinsberg was on last night.
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

Thinking about missing people, anyone seen Willo lately? Could it be that Willo and John Pienaar are one and the same?
