They may have to do something similar again and if we stay in the Premier that's a good thing.
At the moment we are in the premier , every season as soon as we have a bad result the fan base on here goes into meltdown and says we are going down.
It's a good job the players don't give up as easy.

I think there's more to it than that.

This summer we had to accept losing one of our best players. And largely, I think the fans understood the rationale behind that decision. It's what happened next that has vexed people, me included.

No replacement for AWB secured. No forward brought that looks capable of being a regular goalscorer. The Wilf saga.

Public utterances by DF which carry no weight at all and are an insult to the intelligence.

I don't think we will go down, but there looks to be no progression on or off of the field to support Parish's stated intent of Palace breaking into the Top 10 in the League.

We have been the 10th and 11th best in other seasons.
That's pretty good going for Crystal Palace FC in my years of supporting them.
Rough with the smooth , and compared to many seasons at the moment this is smooth.

Remind me again , how many home games did we win last season ?

oh yeah ,fcuk off brighton.

Takes time Neillo , we made a lot of bad signings when we came up and have had many a management change , and basically this means we have been coping.
The management (Parish and whoever) is having to run the club in budget whilst learning from their mistakes.

You have to be in the Premier to finish consistently top ten and we have managed it and have finished consistently mid table (was 15th our worst?)) and we have stayed up whilst learning and coping .

Selling Wan-Bissaka for a decent sum and not having to give him away for a minimal fee , and being able to tell Arsenal to get lost over their joke offer for Wilf shows some sort of progress.

No one knows where we will end up but this current period is the closest we have come so far to fulfilling
our maximum potential as a club in my time supporting.
It is frustrating but credit where credit is due we are still in there with the big boys , another couple of seasons of mid table mediocrity attempting to stabilise is preferable to a spend spend spend spree that may fail
and a plummet to league 1 bankrupt.

Try to win? Select, instruct, plan, hire, play to win?

However, I just about accept the dull football, if it keeps us in the league. It’s when the results are as bad as what’s on show under Roy the disgruntlement is louder.

But this Benteke extension lunacy is a clear p1ss take of everyone supporting, working for, or potentially working for cpfc. It’s a very very bad idea for a number of reasons but they’re going to do it so...... ‘They don’t lose him on a free.’ You get the sense Roy feels the same, but he’s never going to speak his mind and he turned 10,000 Liverpool fans off going.

You couldn’t make this shyte up, because nobody does what we’re doing and never have or will. Sh1t players have to go when their contracts are up, regardless of the original price.

Benteke staying and being our forward is the s***tiest football decision this club will have made in years and for years. You watch. It’ll end badly.

The Guaderian are claiming that Parish is in negotiations with Benteke over a new contract, how stupid is that!

We will no doubt hire a manager not in the supplying Benteke way of thiinking, like with the past 2 managers and how several posters have said isn’t how football is going and target men are dead. Are you one of them? What’s DF advising in all of this? How about Brighty who advised selling Murray?

What happened to using the Zaha sale to evolve the team? What another load of problems we’re going to create.

Parish learning from his mistakes? Are you for a real? This is another example that he isn’t learning at all. There’ll be another manager not using or selecting Benteke so we’ll be paying the wardrobe until 2023 or longer. Absolutely farcical.

Parish is not a football man in any shape or form. He bargains hard, spins PR and hires acquaintant ex employees and friends.

Some people will always defend the club’s hierarchy.
When many were disappointed that AWB was sold defenders of the management said it was a great deal for the club, that the money would be reinvested in a top striker and a young right back and we’d be stronger.
None of this happened.
We’re now talking about extending the contract of Benteke who has been lamentable and one of our worst signings.
Yes I know extending his contract will ‘preserve his value’ but it could also mean another three seasons of a non scoring injury prone striker.
Furthermore, he doesn’t (and won’t) suit Hodgson’s style of play
Parish has done a very good job on the whole but fans are entitled to question recent decisions and the role of Freedman.

You won't get good odds on that , betting on not finishing 12th is an easy bet, imagine how gutted you would be if we finished 11th.

You know when you support a football you cannot pick and choose your results but you support the team through thick and thin .
Sounds like if we had finished 12th but reversed the home and away form you would be happy , that doesn't make the club or team better just makes you happy, fair enough.

Hi Rudi , i have tried to stay out of the Benteke slating as i dont think any of our players want to be s***e on purpose , we have in my oppinion had some real warriors on the park like jimmy mc , joel ward , jedi, luka , scot dan , just to name a few who have and some still do play their hearts out and would sweat blood for our team ...... and then there is Benteke! im sorry i just cant find anything positive to say about him except , no sorry still nothing . A pay rise ! he should be giving money back to the club . if he was on a pay per goal he would starve ! Also tried to not knock the manager but in my opinion the tactics formation recruitment not good! and the passion pride is dwindling very fast from both the terraces and the team. We should never have sold AWB and should hold onto Wilf if we can peeps can agree with me or not i dont care , i have my opinion and entitled to it . wohoo rant is over and i didnt use one curse word . Also while im here . is midlands eagle developing a sense of humor or is it just me
!
