I hate to be critical of Parish but this is a poor show I expect another season of struggle and maybe even relegation. I just hope the players prove me wrong. You cannot keep circling the drain and getting away with it, sooner or later.... We have never been anywhere near a drainpipe at the end of a storm, cannot see any reason for that to change.

An excellent player. indeed, i think he is also our most capped player in the PL. if AWB hadnt have come thru would still be 1st choice, hardly a stick to beat him with.

Whilst we may not have been circling the drain like Sunderland did, we have been close to it and we could be swept in quite quickly. We look like a WBA or Stoke who seemed safe but soon got sucked in and went down. Originally posted by Tickled pink

im happy, we kept wilf and have strengthened the squad bar right back, however we have a player who is extremely experienced and has never let us down to play there in joel ward.
He has consistently let us down. That is why we need an upgrade. I'm sure he tries his best, but he is not Premier League standard

What is happening to Palace is a microcosm of what happened to Liverpool under the Gillettes. Smaller team same issue.

I'll sit on the fence for a few games and see how we are set up - but not replacing AWB and Bats is difficult to understand. Wilf can't do it on his own and it looks to me that we start this season with a weaker team than finished last season.

What will this board be saying next week after we beat Everton, 89th minute from Benteke? This is Palace.

Transfer business? Reading between the lines and back to front. We currently have 8 centre backs in the squad. Tomkins and Sakho, when fit, are a shoe in, but Cahill was again an excellent persuade from Roy. He'll end up playing the whole season alongside one or the other when one or the other is fit. Full backs are a worry. Would like to have seen an improvement on Ward and Kelly on the right. It was sorted then Nathaniel Clyne b@ggers it up by getting injured. All the alternatives = too expensive. PVA is hot or cold, but still worth his place. He links well with Wilf. I liked what I saw of the young kid Mitchell pre season (fleetingly). Maybe worth a gamble a la AWB. Midfield from last season is well hard and sorted with Camarasa a particularly interesting addition. Jury's out on McCarthy. Andros picks himself, as does Wilf when he's match fit and in the right mind-frame. Ayew was a shrewd purchase. Very cheap and he can do a job subbing either. Albeit not particularly well but there's always nuisance factor. Striker? Benteke and Wickham will finally come good this season. You read it here first. Sorloth scored tonight!

I fear for us if Ward is going to be playing right back
