I hate to be critical of Parish but this is a poor show I expect another season of struggle and maybe even relegation. I just hope the players prove me wrong.

You cannot keep circling the drain and getting away with it, sooner or later....

We have never been anywhere near a drainpipe at the end of a storm, cannot see any reason for that to change.

An excellent player.

indeed, i think he is also our most capped player in the PL.

if AWB hadnt have come thru would still be 1st choice, hardly a stick to beat him with.

Whilst we may not have been circling the drain like Sunderland did, we have been close to it and we could be swept in quite quickly. We look like a WBA or Stoke who seemed safe but soon got sucked in and went down.

im happy, we kept wilf and have strengthened the squad bar right back, however we have a player who is extremely experienced and has never let us down to play there in joel ward.

He has consistently let us down. That is why we need an upgrade. I'm sure he tries his best, but he is not Premier League standard

What is happening to Palace is a microcosm of what happened to Liverpool under the Gillettes. Smaller team same issue.
Two yanks who know f*** all about FOOTBALL not SOCCER and who own small time basketball / baseball teams decide to have a flirt with it,
They know f*** all about it.
Until we get rid of these two w***ers we will be going nowhere.
We should have bought the Russian kid with the AWB money at least. Instead it gone back to repay Director loans.
What a pair of c***s. Can you imagine how much Chelsea owe RA? And does demand back a few measly million??

I'll sit on the fence for a few games and see how we are set up - but not replacing AWB and Bats is difficult to understand. Wilf can't do it on his own and it looks to me that we start this season with a weaker team than finished last season.

really??? consistently being pretty much ever present in a team that generally finishes around mid-table in the PL for 5 seasons.

the guy is a model professional and we are / have been lucky to have his ilk at the club.

like it or not, we are currently a pragmatic club, with a pragmatic manager and joel ward sits into that situation nicely.

would i have liked us to sign reece james or similar yes, but we didnt so we are where we are and it is what it is.

lets look forward not backwards.

Transfer business? Reading between the lines and back to front.
Henderson was a good and free move. Both Guaita and Hennessey are prone to injuries and often at the same time (Jules Liverpool last season).

We currently have 8 centre backs in the squad. Tomkins and Sakho, when fit, are a shoe in, but Cahill was again an excellent persuade from Roy. He'll end up playing the whole season alongside one or the other when one or the other is fit.

Full backs are a worry. Would like to have seen an improvement on Ward and Kelly on the right. It was sorted then Nathaniel Clyne b@ggers it up by getting injured. All the alternatives = too expensive.
However, excellent piece of business with AWB.

PVA is hot or cold, but still worth his place. He links well with Wilf. I liked what I saw of the young kid Mitchell pre season (fleetingly). Maybe worth a gamble a la AWB.

Midfield from last season is well hard and sorted with Camarasa a particularly interesting addition. Jury's out on McCarthy.

Andros picks himself, as does Wilf when he's match fit and in the right mind-frame. Ayew was a shrewd purchase. Very cheap and he can do a job subbing either. Albeit not particularly well but there's always nuisance factor.

Striker? Benteke and Wickham will finally come good this season. You read it here first.

Sorloth scored tonight!

I fear for us if Ward is going to be playing right back
