Not a happy thought.

Yep, I wonder if Lammy and the rest of the diversity industry will complain about being left out of that one.

Yes, any remotely critical comments gets called out. All the more reason not to kowtow in my view. As a democracy it's beholden upon us to at least state a case against erosion of it elsewhere and the predictable propaganda that accompanies it. Granted it's likely rather futile here, but still.

It's rather terrifying to hear of these biological weapon possibilities. I used to think that having a nuclear deterrent was the ultimate safety net, but now that seems very naive. While it prevents 'boots on the ground' wars between nuclear powers, the future interplay between the US, Russia and China looks very scary indeed.

Even beyond that, technology (Esp AI), weaponry, an ever connected world, environmental concerns. Too many issues are piling up to offer a positive outcome. It's starting to look like worldwide solutions are required, but with the knowledge that our tribal nature means there are very unlikely to ever come about. We'll do ourselves in one way or another. So maybe I'll throw caution to the wind and have a few extra mince pies this christmas.

The weapon has been around for years. Menu number 19 at the Chinese Takeaway.

Everyone here is crossing their fingers that we have reached a tipping point and the violence will subside.

We now have to deal with tens of millions of pounds of damage, a recession and substantial unemployment of mostly low income earners as a direct result of the past few months civil disorder.

It's a very complicated issue but the real life effects for thousands of people who didn't riot will be severe .

So sad

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

You can see what the freedom rebels in Hong Kong are fighting against here: they know what's coming.

Unfortunately there are still a number of hardcore rioters who can't resist chucking a brick or lobbing a petrol bomb because so far they have not had to take any personal responsibility.

However, things seem to be improving past few days with sporadic misbehaviour rather than widespread serious disorder.

I think the win over Burnley has cheered people up, well the HK Palace group anyway

Talk about Hong Kong has gone very quiet.
Everyone seems distracted.
