I think that's a bit harsh as the two teams were a class apart. Whilst Jofra Archer quite obviously frightened the life out of them they went after Chris Woakes who conceded a hatful of runs in his first few overs

Piss poor run chase, didn’t go for it at all. Really? I don't think they were allowed to. England pretty much contributed all parts of the game. Thought we were great.

They didn’t take anywhere near enough risks from the 30th over to actually stay with the rate. If you cannot stay remotely close to the rate you have no chance to launch at the end and get the win. Therefore their approach guaranteed they would lose, with a certainty of 100 out of 100.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

Thought our boys were fantastic today. A much needed win over a dangerous but inconsistent team. The current top four already looking like they may all make the semis.

The West Indies didn't look anything like the team that we played just a few months ago over at their place. The fast bowlers were hostile in the Caribbean but a bunch of pussies yesterday. England have a devastating batting line up with Roy, Morgan, Stokes and Buttler but it must have been demoralising for the Windies when we sent a bowler out to bat at number three and a good job he did too.

Is there a cricket game on today??? Anticipated global audience of one and a half billion!!! Quite amazing. Not sure what result would benefit England most. Probably an Indian win to keep daylight between us and the chasing pack. Edited by Tom-the-eagle (16 Jun 2019 9.17am)

Edited by Tom-the-eagle (16 Jun 2019 9.17am) How I remember the olden days when a cricket world cup would be shown 'ball-by-ball' on the BBC. How I ever got my O Levels in 1975, with the daily distraction of CWC matches during exam leave, remains a mystery. 60 overs per side then, too.

Players were decked out in their 'Whites' as opposed to the current day when each team has a different strip. And red balls were used.

I've noticed that almost all of the adverts being shown during the game are specific to Indians and pakistanis being money transfers to India and a Halal Show. Due to the huge audience expected for this game I'd guess that Sky are charging huge premiums for these ad slots. At least it makes a change from the usual run of betting ads
