If we can get Bowen and Ferguson over the line, it would be an outstanding transfer window. Two of the best young players in the Championship, hungry and ready to make the step up. Both will be in contention for the starting 11. Reported £16m + £4m (with add ons to £10m) appears excellent value in today's market. Neither will be on huge salaries. These are just the signings we need. Not ageing squad fillers

No I was making a joke every time we go for a player those clubs seem to be linked.

This is not a done deal yet and I am worried that now that a fee has been agreed other clubs will match it. Let's hope Jarrod has a yearning for South London.

He would be expected to do defensive duties, as does Wilf, however he would bring some attacking balance to our team that has been lacking since Townsend was injured, so I’m not quite sure why he would be downbeat about it. ith a team set up to defend from minute one

Of course, he could also take the view that we attack with wingers, one of which we have been missing for two months and that he will slot straight into the team.
