I’m quite pleased so far. Four players gone, none of whom would feature in a full strength first team squad and freeing up some wages and space for some new faces. Hopefully two quality, long term signings who will immediately compete for first team selection.

None of them were anywhere near the first 11 so it doesn’t bother me. Even if we only got 2 bodies in but they were actually decent players it would be a good trade off.

Nice guy, but whoever brought this man in thinking he was premiership standard should have some serious questions to answer. A complete waste of money IMO.

In fact if we were a half decent championship side I would be concerned if we got him in. As said nice guy but not rated by me at all.

Never really given a proper run of games, so not sure how we can judge too much. Personally, I think he's got the goods and with some confidence would be a great striker. Time will tell.

I don't know how anyone could reach that conclusion from what we've seen of him since he put on a Palace shirt. He looks nowhere near PL quality and has not improved in 12 months. I dread him coming on as he plods around like a demented donkey. Sorry, but he has to go ... anywhere!!!

(Update) Hallelujah ... just read the donkey has landed in Ghent. He won't be missed this side of the Channel.

It’s not.puncheon may have made a few appearances in the last 5 minutes of games .
Williams would rarely make the bench and never come on.
Sorloth would make the bench sometimes and get a few sub appearances.
Mutch would never make the bench.
Kirby obviously isn’t considered to be ready and is being sent away to get games.

I would imagine that Kirby going out on loan is surely just for experience.. He's very highly rated.. We have a few in the the U23s who need some loan moves to build up experience.

I'm actually behind Roy and the board on passing on Solanke... £19m for a guy who has played a handful of league cup games and friendlies... plus failing a medical with us... Don't get me wrong he may turn out to be amazing but it's a lot of money for someone with little experience...

But Jesus we need some cover up front.. I'm not confident we will get it though.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Passing on Solanke was definitely the right call for where we are now. That said I’d like a different option up front.

Maupay is the one who interests me most. He seems to offer more mobility than we have. I also like the idea that he’s youngish and may have done resale value!

I know Roy is a fan if prem experience but I’d like to see us develop more players. It may be wrong think but it bugs me that the only two players I can recall us turning a profit in are Gayle and Bolassie. Part of our financial strife is down to our lack of outward sales. I don’t like it but teams in our position do need to be able to turn some form of income from sales.

On Maupay I think he could be the sort of player who adds something new to our attack and could be a sound investment. I just don’t know what the price might be. If he came in at 12-14 then I’d say yes.

Murray and Jedinak are two more for you

Thanks.

Silly of me to forget Murray but I would have sworn - wrongly - that we gave Jedi a free.

That still only adds about 10 mill to the transfer profit. It seems very thin pickings.i suppose that it comes down to our eternal relegation battle dictating safe transfers of hard bitten players with prem experience.

All of which was probably used to pay off various managers

Good Information but I have an idea tat would free up some wages but probably nor get much cash for him and that is to get rid of Benteke. He's not done anywhere enough to prove himself a good buy. In fact I think he's a lazy ***. The longer he stays out the better. However, the dismal approach with regard to Solanke is rediculous. How about spending cash on players like him (No doubt he will score against us for Bournemouth) instead of 100 mil on a Championship stadium. Players will keep us up not Glass and bricks

Rumours are that he wouldn't be fit for another few weeks and then will take a few more weeks to get match fit. An alleged loan fee of £2m is rather a lot to spend on a player who might only play for us for a couple of months
