Due to his wages, the sell-on clause, and his intrinsic relegation-staving value to us, I'd say Wilf is nigh un-sellable. As the good-but-not-OMG player he's been this season, I reckon we'd struggle to get 35m for him -- and it'd be less net to us. It simply isn't worth selling for that -- in my book -- although his wages could be used elsewhere. I'd love to give him the playing platform he deserves.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

No, we shouldn't sell Zaha. We should cherish him as our best player ever.

The other thing which I have said many times before we lose 40%+ of the transfer fee it's clause with United idiot SP made to get him back. So even if some one did pay 100m we only get 50-60m which with the way the market is is not great we would end up with maybe two players that are not even Zaha level. If it wasn't for that clause I would sell him

I find it laughable that this topic is even being discussed, Wilf is the best player bar none we have had in years, possibley since the likes of Wrighty and Salako. Rather than questioning if we should cash in, shouldn't we be asking why the board have not built a team around him that can even challenge for mid table honours ?? The way the playing staff, and club is being managed is a joke, the whole HF thing, the catering, the half time ankle deep in piss trips to the toilets, the shockingly bad transfer dealings, it's like we have learnt f*** all in the time we have been in the top flight. Adebayor, Sanogoals, Mutch, Lee, Ayew, Sorloth to name but a few ( there are more as I'm sure you are aware) And to be honest whoever is responsible for signing Sorloth for 10 million and Ayew wants sacking as the pair of them couldn't score crack in Tornton Heet with a bag of used 50's. So No we shouldn't be selling Zaha, we should be asking why are we still relegation fodder in our 6th Season of the premier league, and why in the name of Christ we STILL have not effectively replaced Murray or Gayle. The way our club is run is a joke, and the fact that this thread even exists is proof of that.

The way our club is run is a joke, and the fact that this thread even exists is proof of that. Let me offer a different perspective. We're now in our unprecedented sixth straight year in the premier league. We've finished somewhere between 10 and 17 every year. We're currently seeing two of our own products playing fantastically week in week out (Wilf and AWB), which we can all be immensely proud of. We've surrounded them with quality prem players, such as Tomkins, Sakho, PVA, Milovoijevic, McArthur, Cabaye, Meyer, Townsend, Benteke. When the board has needed to splash out, it largely has (Benteke / Sakho). And we've also nabbed a couple of very good deals (Tomkins/PVA/Meyer/Milo come to mind). We're doing some stuff to do the stadium, we've secured our training ground - and stuff for the fans, such as social media and accessibility to the players has been the best it's ever been. Oh - and we've got the best damn fans and atmosphere in the world. Have they done everything perfect? No, of course not. But they've done a damn site more right than they have wrong. You're being painfully pessimistic. It's a great time to be a Palace fan...and I for one am loving every moment. The ups, the downs and everything in between.

Sprites, the issue with the club is the foundations are built on sand, and I’m not talking about the Holmesdale, and people behind the scenes hired are ex Palace players without one day’s experience before taking the job on. The kind of questions Parish should be asking himself, as indeed should the billionaire shareholders, if they care, are what condition will key components be in if we’re relegated (when we’re relegated seeing as our revenue to compete to guarantee Prem status is yonks away with the stalling of the new stand). Academy? - at least we’ve finally bought the plot goals is on. Not category A though. Scouting? - a complete joke. Just look at the signings we’ve made outside of a panini album. Football directors, strategists and strategies? - shambolic. FDB, then Freedman and lack of joined up thinking, which as I understand it, is the reason for his employment. Maybe it’s an accent problem? Transfer handling when they happen? - amateur and public knowledge. Forward planning? - is there any? The social media? - I’m struggling to see how important this really is. Sure, fans should be communicated to but it’s not exactly the priority and more like something that’s put right very cheaply and hardly has any effect on my match day experience at all. I want to see us maximise our potential, who’s the fanzine guest or, ahem, Parish’s arrogant replies to genuine and obvious football concerns like ‘maybe the sun won’t rise tomorrow’ aren’t top of my list.

The only time the club is run logically is when a reputable manager demands certain things before taking the job and probably thumps on Parish’s door or assured him he’ll be leaving on transfer deadline if the necessary are not delivered. Otherwise there’s no planning, just repeated mistake followed by firefighting in a repeating cycle, without any reputable advice, not helping to the break the cycle whatsoever. But if you think it’s all ok then great. We’ve spent big to stay here, not done very much very smart or long lasting, which is why it’s caught up with us and could do so again, only more and much worse, especially if in the championship.

The board hardly ever splashes out only done so because it was forced to and even then if you remobe the two 30m ones we have not spent much also we drag things out then over pay anyway. All we have done to the stadium is polish a turd with some glitter plus mostly all that was done due to having to to meet rules/regs it wasn't done out of the kindness of the owners (looks like this whole redevelopment stuff is a mess and not going to happen now just think of how much £ was wasted on that) Originally posted by Rudi Hedman

Cat A is not worth it if you look at requirements it costs a lot of money for that status also loads of other requirements so really it's more suited for big clubs. I agree with scouting being a joke and what you are saying about stuff structure using people is lack of experience being hired because they have history with the club. The social media stuff they are pushing because they see cash signs and opportunities to get people involved meaning more revenue milked from fans.
