a discussion about Roy's successor is entirely fair game. I can't honestly understand why he's still bothering, but I'm delighted he is, bless him.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

With respect, my understanding is that the debate has not centred around a call for the imminent departure of Hodgson and considering the favoured replacements but for discussing the potential candidates when Hodgson eventually departs, given that his contract runs to the end of the following season.

That said, I am far from cerebrally blessed so I might be off track on this matter.

that's spot on what it is. people are not bothering to read posts properly before commenting

Three of your four posts since you joined have mentioned Mutch coming back in January. Are you on a wind up as I see that you're posting from a Brighton IP address?

I would expect Roy to stay until the end of his contract period, which is the end of 2019/20 season.

I can't see the point in speculating over a vacancy that doesn't exist , my opinion

Here! Here!

I don't want us to drift into the "he has taken (our big club) as far as he can" mentality, on the back of a slightly disappointing start when compared to last seasons finish. That mentality seems to inevitably end in a crap appointment and relegation; as in the case of Charlton and Villa.

We are after all doing well compared to this time in any previous premiership campaign.

Strictly, that's 99% of such posts.

Wait until you get a list of 500 managers from obscure places around the world before you say that.

No one is saying that. Roy is in his seventies, it is perfectly fair for people to talk about who is going to come next.

Dyche would be good. Always liked Puel, he's done well enough in the Prem for usually middling teams

Let Roy ride out another 2 years contract, then let ex man utd manager jose mourinio, whos had over a year out of the game, come back hungry and refreshed to open the new stand against real madrid!
