Ayew was praised by the 5 live commentary team and by the manager for his efforts today.

He put in a hard shift with zero support.

He is an ex-Swansea winger and will do a good job for us, but he cannot replace an entire forward line or defend as well.

It is obvious that some people are looking for a convenient scapegoat but they would be better off looking at their under-performing stars.

We have played him up top(not his best position) or wide(not his best position). We should play him behind Wilf and Andros. He has got a dig on him as he proved against us last season

I've not seen a replay of their goal but that aside he was decent today.

I honestly think that it is about time this club threw sentiment out of the window Over the last few years we have seen to have priorities giving contracts to the likes of Speroni who in his time has been a fantastic servant to this club and a great goalkeeper, but like John Terry you have to cut the string and push sentiment aside for the greater good of the club, this also I’m afraid applies to Jonny Williams.
Removing these two players from the wage list and squad and paying attention to the areas that need reenforcing. As we all know strikers and cover for Zaha is more important. As we seen today against Spurs, when Zaha doesn’t play we basically fail and it’s about time this was corrected, we cannot kept on relaying on Wilf to get us out of this constant mess we find ourself in every season.

Hodgson has vast experience I donot question that but why does he always play Schlupp over Riedewald. The lad has not been given a chance since Hodgson arrived, personally I think he, Riedewald is a better all round player than Schlupp.

The position Schlupp has been playing in isn’t suited to Riedewald either. Riedewald’s area is those positions near left mid but not actually left mid, not that Schlupp should be playing there either.

I think there is a good player in Ayew. He has been asked to fill the hole where our none existent striker should be, but that's not his natural position. Today he did well. He has good ball control and often, despite finding himself totally isolated and with 2/3 defenders around him, still managed to keep the ball and lay off to one of our own.

agree, and you cannot fault his effort, got corners and throw ins when isolated and outnumbered several times

I also thought Ayew had a good game yesterday and playing in a position that isn’t suited for him. He needs to either play wider or just behind a centre forward. Haven’t seen Spurs goal on tv yet, but if we had got a goal or three before that then it wouldn’t have mattered if Ayew or anyone else was at fault. With this present team/setup scoring a goal or three is a long way off. In truth we have 11 players only and no squad to replace anyone to change a game. Our midfield is weaker than last season and we don’t have a centre forward. We screwed up in the close season by not getting players in and if we don’t get them in January we will be one of the 3 worse teams in the prem?

I think putting Soerloth and Schlupp on yesterday changed the game. If we hadn't done that Spurs would have just shut us out and closed the game comfortably. After we came on we got the ball forward much more and created several chances to equalise, the best of which of course Soerloth missed.

Disappointing not to get a point but encouraging given how s***e those two have been at times up to now. When I saw them coming on I thought "Oh FFS", but fair play to them they gave us a chance.

Ayew tries hard but is not good enough and has no physical presence. Was he also playing musical statues with their goal?

Would have him on the bench so we could go 442/424 in last 20 minutes of games but he is not a starter.

Sorloth must be really s*** in training if Ayew is still getting the nod
