Can you show me where it says that on the fa rules, because try as I might I can't see anything saying that. Or are the refs just making up their own rules now. I haven't read the rules but I would imagine that they are re-interpreted every now and again

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Returning to the incident in question, there is of course a pandemic view that the challenge was worthy of a Red. I am just pondering whether the referee's attention was drawn to the ball which was relatively some way ahead of Zaha and so he was not fully focussed on the challenge which was some distance from the ball and as such could have intrepreted it as merely a trip.He will have to explain this in his post-match assessment of his performance. If he had been referred to VAR and was able to take a closer look at the challenge then I am sure he would have brandished a Red. Edited by Willo (27 Aug 2018 6.17pm)

As Souness pointed out at the time, he's either bottled it or else he knows f*** all about football. Attachment: Screenshot_2018-08-27_18-21-21.png (247.94Kb)

I was just pondering as to the possible reason why he issued a yellow instead of a red.I might of course be way off track. There would be no debate had he brandished a red. I actually mentioned that I didn't want to get drawn into a debate about general refereeing standards in England. Regards the incident involving Zaha, I believe I have made my opinion patently clear - No equivocation at all. There would be no controversy or debate if a Red had been issued.I shall leave it at this. I was wondering why too. Your response was just as valid as his, especially with your relevant qualifications. Selective moderation? The last line of the post may well have been on topic but the rest of it was against the forum's rules. As I have said on many occasions debate the issue without making insulting posts about the posters otherwise the posts will be deleted
