Hmmm! Like Niasse’s agent who, allegedly according to both Everton and Palace, asked for an extra payment of ca. 400k for himself after the deal had been agreed by all parties. And that was at the last minute. Yes, much better to give in to last minute blackmail...

Niasse's price has gone up 1-2 million sonce last winter, so from where I see things, 400k more to the agent would have been good business. The messages getting around are far more damaging than making £1.6 mil over a year. Parish should never have got to that situation but him knowing the longer term implications of rolling over is why he makes these signings and financial decisions and you, with respect, do not.

Yes that's the answer and pave the way for every other agent to play the same game, it's more than an egotistical thing. You may have a good knowledge of many players but you have a lot to learn about the transfer business This

We know that now. But to give in to what was in essence extortion would have had every future agent (chancer) understandably asking for similar largesse. Simply put, it would have been idiotic to agree.
If you come to a fork in the road, take it. |

That’s nonsense, paying an agent half a million quid for that reason sets a dangerous precedent. Not all agents are like that. But if you really want a player, you have to deal with some of those sometimes. It is what it is. Maybe when FIFA and UEFA will impose some rules, these practices of these managers will stop. Until then, you have to deal with them. My point wasthat simply ditching a deal for Noasse, who would have been a better finisher than anything Palace had in the last 6 months, just because the agent was greedy, was to much. It wasn't an avoidance of setting a precedence, it was a show of power on behalf of Palace's decision making board. Like Spain's President fired Lopetegui because he signed for Real Madrid without telling him. It's a message like: "I'm bigger than you!". But, in my experience, good players (or their family/ managers) are childish and hard headed and you have to know to close your eyes and look the other way sometimes. Sure, discipline is one thing, I'm 100% for it, but this wasn't a case of indiscipline by the player in case, it was just the greed of a manager. And, frankly, 400k for a club like Pallace, when the transfer fee was 8 million, was nothing. I have read many books of my compatriot Mircea Lucescu, a very intelligent man, speaks 6-7 languages and I've watched him build Shakhtar from an unknown club in the '90s to an Europa League winner in 2009. And in his interviews or books he talks about accepting the moods of Brazilian players, especially as he was bringing them really young(aged 19-20). At one point he subbed Douglas Costa (now of Juventus, formerly of Bayern Munich) and the kid was very pissed, he yelled and cursed at the manager. Lucescu didn't expel him from the team like many would have and simply had a talk with him after the match, when things cooled down. But he wasn't a permissive manager. He didn't let players touch him and they never dated shower him with champaign. But he built a strong team with Willian, Douglas Costa, Fernandinho, Alex Teixeira, Mkhitaryan, all brought in young and trained. If the Ukrainean war hadn't ravaged the country, Shakhtar would have still been a powerhouse.

Tricky, will Swansea countenance a loan? Doubt it, and Palace are hardly likely to stump up the cash straight up. Pity as Ayew (if playing well) offers something different to the tall target men Palace otherwise have on their books.

I haven’t read all of your posts but the ones I’ve read generally imply that you know better than everyone at the club regardless of their role. The fact is, transfers are complicated, very complicated. If the board decided that the agent did not deserve a 400k fee (when we don’t even know the degree of his involvement) for a player may I remind you couldn’t hit a barn door with a banjo at the time and Everton wanted rid, then I support that decision. Maybe if said agent was managing the quality of player that Mina Raiola does, they might have paid it. I’m the first to admit you have an amazing knowledge of footballers around the world but Try admitting you don’t know everything, it’s an empowering experience

Surely, the fact that you said Meyer would not come to Palace shows that what you typically claim or present as fact is merely opinion.
