Great news on the economy, unemployment down again and wage growth up. Unfortunately there isn't enough space on the BBC main news page to herald this (2.19pm). Probably because it is more important to highlight that a hacker is selling cheats for Fortnite and Ant McPartlin has got divorced and and a non story from Nicole Kidman that she didn't get harassed because of Tom Cruise. Well done Auntie glad to see you got your priorities right.

As I have mentioned several times on this site the BBC has a problem with free licenses for over 75s. It looks like they now realise this and are planning to scrap them. As young people turn away from traditional TV towards subscriber services the BBC now admits its core audience is us oldies. A bit of an issue then to charge people who don't watch it whilst giving it free to your core and ever increasing / ageing customer base. In fairness to the BBC it was Gordon Brown who brought in the free license still they could have scrapped it 2 years ago (and blamed the government) when Osbourne announced the government would no longer fund it. Top stories on the BBC news home page today: Husband and wife go barefoot on Bondi beach. A baby is the youngest person to have traveled through all 50 of the united states. Wow that was amazing doing that all on her own! Oh she didn't her parents took her, not very interesting then. Stay glued folks next up cat gets stuck up a tree oh yeah and Anjem Choudary has just been released.

Another great non story from the BBC. Headline: Gwenno 'sparks record numbers' in Cornish exams Apparently the singer has sparked a massive interest in the Cornish language leading to record numbers taking the exam this year err that would be 77 people then. This maybe important local news but why is it on the news homepage whilst dear old Auntie buries stories of national significance.

Yeah I thought the same. Every day, there are between 1-4 'social justice' stories on their homepage.
