Well yes, but on that level you could argue that any belief is artificial. The fact that they have very real historical implications is their danger. It reminds me of an argument given against Jews who are too quick to point the finger at anti semitism. You open the door for those Arabs you accuse to wear it as a badge of honour. In fact, were you to substitute ‘islam’ for ‘judaism’ and ‘islamophobia’ for ‘antisemitism’, your sentence would sound very familiar to people in Hamas and Hezbollah. Edited by serial thriller (14 Jul 2018 11.00am) So if you criticise Islam or a group of Muslims you are Islamaphobic? So it follows that criticising one particular Muslim makes you Islamaphobic? So Maple must be Hrolfophobic. Very silly.

Very sad. What is negative about singing the national anthem which is a free way of bringing our country together.

"islamophobia" is an artificial construct, anyway. There's nothing wrong in disliking an ideology, especially one as pernicious as islam. It's a word that's been conjured up to suppress debate and, like the word 'racist', is used by the lazy and intellectually bereft as an argument match-winner.
As we know It's what some on the far left do. You aren't allowed to criticise a group that they deem to be a 'protected' class because.....apparently it means you 'hate' them. It's massively overblown and is just an attempt to close down any nuance. These people only want the ideas and topics that they believe in discussed. I like what Douglas Murray said of them. He said those who like to use the term Islamophobia should be accused of Islamophilia. It's the level they operate at.

Both the Jewish and Islamic political lobbies are hyper quick to claim antisemitism and Islamophobia if anyone criticises any macro consideration of their group. It's part of the politically correct censorship that operates in all of the anglosphere. It use to be only if you had a large media reach. But with the new 'hate speech'...which in reality are a form of heresy laws come back to haunt us...increasingly we are seeing individual members of the public locked up for mere non PC commentary. In the US the Jewish political lobbies are massively overpowered for their demographics and to a less extent the Islamic political lobbies in the UK hold an over powerful influence with elites. Personally I think Jews as a group.....while they as a majority always vote left......holistically are a benefit to any nation. High IQs, high incomes. We should feel free to talk about the groups we all find ourselves within and about ourselves as individuals without fear or threats. Our views should also be there to be challenged. When I was growing up I took all that for granted. Now some people call me an extremist just for talking ideas that were previously expressed normally. No individual is defined by any perceived group they are within. They are judged as individuals. However, this should not mean that we can't talk about groups holistically.

And they don't make absurd and unreasonable demands on their host society. I'd take Jews over moslems any day.

Yep in general they are far more secular and try to fit in to the societies they move to. The number of Jewish fundamentalists in the UK is hyper low......I'd speculate that they hardly feature in our watch lists.

Just bringin this back on track. Why does it matter what colour or creed any of the protesters are? Not sure if this has already been asked or not.
