Gutted for the lads, amazing really that a country with a population smaller than Scotland can produce a better team than us.

Pathetic bottle job. As usual, the minute they come up against someone decent, they capitulate. The only reason people have been deceived into thinking they're any good is because the draw happened to fall so that that didn't happen until the semi-final. Even so they were a penalty kick away from losing in the second round as usual, after a performance which should have told anyone who saw it what was going to happen in tonight's game. Chris Waddle went on about how England needed "a creative player", one who could change a game, pull something out of the fire and do something about it when things were going Pete Tong. I think Ivory Coast have such a player. England meanwhile had two shots on target, have created practically f*** all from open play in the whole tournament, and kept picking Lingard, Sterling and Dele Alli long after they'd all shown that they couldn't hit a cow's arse with a f***ing banjo. Meanwhile, the only player that had shown decent finishing with any consistency - Kane - is pulled so deep that he needs a telescope to see the other lot's goal. This "coming of age" England is the emperor's new clothes.
Yep One or two shots England says it all really! I have more in my morning coffee! Edited by Henry of Peckham (12 Jul 2018 1.09am)

Yep. We beat all the team we should beat and lost to better ones. We will never get a better chance to make the final so I now feel that I will never see it happen. I didn't expect to anyway quite honstly.
As to Sterling, Alli and Lingard, who would have replaced them ?

Easiest route to the final any team could wish. What did we actually achieve at this World Cup. Besides beating a couple of bang average teams, the moment we come up against any real opponents we bottle it as usual.

A half too far... Played very well for 45 minutes and could have been 2/3 up. Then our inexperienced and lack of quality in certain areas showed.. Let Croatia come at us and didn't really know how to respond. Seen some claiming the first Croatia goal could have been a foul for a high foot? Fair call or just clutching at straws? Excellent tournament overall but beaten by a better more street wise side.

Why were our lads so knackered, yet their guys were still able to muster the energy to see things through ? Croatia played 2 prior games both went to extra time and penalties. Vida and Modric looked like they could go another 120. Will a winter break really help ? or is it all just BS ?

Definately dangerous play, Walker comes into to head the ball a little above waist height, and the Croat sticks his foot stud first just above Kyles ear to stick it home. Could well have been out of sight my half time, but we were not and we ran out of steam, or were not able to match their intensity.

Can't help but think that domestic football calendar is ridiculously congested e.g. why not scrap Carabao Cup and bring in Winter break at XMAS time? To think that football season starts again in a month's time already....

I’ve reffed in the past, and I would have given ‘foot up’ for that, without question. Incidently it was a header by Stones that was cleared.
