Has the OP only supported Palace in the CPFC2010 era? Because there isn't much to moan about if you were around for the decades previous to that.
Optimistic as ever |

I think Parish is just very jealous that Simon Jordan gets airtime on national radio and he doesn't. Does TalkSh!te count as "radio" now?

They bought the club and a lot of its debts at the market rate, if it was for peanuts then there would have been a queue of speculators desperate to purchase us from the receivers. After receivership I believe Palace still made a loss until we needed to sell Zaha to balance the books and comply with FFP, something that most clubs in the Championship didn't do that season. FFP is based on a 5 year period and as Palace (basically) started as a new company in the summer of 2010 we could only daily to comply with FFP in the summer of 2015. Therefore, selling Zaha had nothing to do with adhering to FFP.

My slight concern here with Parish is his tendency to leave any transfer acquisitions to the very last minute of the window and when it all inevitably goes wrong, plays the blame game as he seeks so called bargains on the cheap or ' frees, when we miss out.

Whilst I'm happy to criticize Parish when I feel that he is wrong I do feel sorry for him at the moment as he cannot really move until he knows what's happening to Cabaye and Loftus-Cheek. Cabaye should be given a deadline to decide by but Loftus-Cheek is more of a problem as no-one even knows who is making the decisions at Chelsea let alone whether he will be sent out on loan again

You would’ve hoped lessons would have been learnt after last close season, regardless of who we had as manager we quite clearly weren’t ready for the start of the season!! But then again after staying up for 5 years now, SP might argue, he knows what he’s doing and it’s all part of the master plan Where’s my Twitter, I’m going to have it out with him!!

Leaving too many too late isn’t good but I hope the deadline change works for us.

A lot of skill, luck and courage with crisis management has been a major part, plus, as Midlands has said, serendipity. We now need a bit of calm, an equipped and prepared squad, good start and a comfortable season or 2 and hopefully more with stadium work on the way.
