Rudi Hedman was truly awful. Big man, no skill and no pace.

As I recall he did ok in the play off semi at home to Swindon in 89 but was given an absolutely torrid time in the the first leg at Blackburn.

Someone might be able to help me out with this but didn't he also score the winning penalty against Sampdoria in previous season tournaments in Turin.

signed for £2.75m, played like 10 times, was awful then f***ed off back to france 6 months later.

was our record transfer for something like 10 years aswell!

Again my memory might be shot from near 40years of watching Palace donkeys but didn't Carl Leaburn, who has to be high up on list of donkeys in general, score a hatrick with Ismail marking him. Surprised leaburn never played for us.

My abiding memory of Rudi was coming off the bench at the goldstone on boxing day and looking like a rabbit caught in headlights.

Great call. I saw him play for Dulwich Hamlet once and he still looked shaky.

But for me, Clive, it has to be the one and only Gary Stebbing. To be fair to him, though, Coppell said he came into the side far before he was ready. I don't think it helped him.

he was all right. surely there were far worse players around the time we had him, or since.

It will always be Brian Bason for me.

Although looking at some of the names on this thread, that my brain has clearly been trying to blot out, the competition is fierce !

To be fair though, the brilliant Doris Hinshelwood was a tough act to follow!!
