I'm concerned with immature teenage boys making stupid mistakes and being put on sex registers and having careers destroyed. Seconded Fortunately its been stopped.

Just questioning your claim that this is a situation that only involves teenage boys and how you substantiate that claim. As a teacher I'm sure you appreciate the need to support your assertions.

If they bring this back but with common sense I'm sure everyone can be happy and no castigated old duffer will be shouting 'object' and getting feminazied for it. This law wasn't even debated in the house.....I seriously can't believe how cucked the Tory party is....they are steamrolling this guy. I'm not voting for this party. Never let the facts get in the way of a good story. As has been established on the news, the MP who shouted 'object' to this Private Member's Bill (quite an unfortunate title, given the subject matter) has exercised that parliamentary right in respect of numerous other such bills. His issue is not with the subject matter - he is not a supporter of the right to 'upskirt' - his issue is with the parliamentary process. He believes that legislation requires proper debate and scrutiny. And you know what; I actually agree with him. There is no law worse than "bad law".

Never let the facts get in the way of a good story. Be fair. That wasn't reported at the time people (OK me) moaned about his behaviour Originally posted by YT
Numerous MPs are now crying "shame!"..."a day of shame for parliament"...etc. If that's the case, then why does parliament perpetuate this right to object? How can an MP be called "shameful" for exercising a parliamentary right? That is a daft parliamentary right if a Private Members Bill can be thrown out because of the objection of a single MP out of 650

I think we are in agreement. 1 out of 650 is a point well made; however in this instance, did you see on TV how many MPs were actually in the chamber at the time of this outrage? I’d be surprised if it was more than 40. Doesn’t this again support the MP’s stance i.e. that an unscrutinised law can be passed when supported by only a tiny minority of the represented population?

Why should any Bill that will dictate the behaviour of people and carry legal consequences be allowed to pass through The House with around only 6% of our elected representatives there?
