Taken me a few days to get round what has happened to my mate. Alan and I have sat next to each other in LH for years,he used to babble on and on during the game...Yes Al I'm watching the same game....I'm gonna miss it now He always got in the ground before me..to see the Crystals I think,I always got in when the players were coming out..he was always there with a big smile and a big hug...I'm not looking forward to WBA my next home game...I'm gonna miss him now. He was one of the nicest blokes I've ever met, never a bad word to say about anyone. So many things I can say about my mate but will bring me to tears.Away days, especially the Brighton semi final playoff,we hugged and cried with joy. Rest in Peace Alan...I'm really going to miss you mate xxx

I was only lucky enough to know Alan for just over 12 years but it truly felt that I’d know him for ever. We shared some real highs and lows with Palace over those 12 years both at Selhurst Park and on the road. We went to every game in the 2016 cup run and on the day of the final together with other family and friends we had the most special day (even though the result went against cpfc). I’ve attached a photo from Wembley which is how I will remember my friend. Supporting his beloved Crystal Palace together with his daughter Hannah and my daughter Hannah. Four lifelong CPFC fans just having a great time. Life can be incredibly cruel at times and one of the very good guys was taken from us on Saturday afternoon. Rest in peace “Super Al” Attachment: 24A28502-6F2E-40A4-BA90-6EDCC6475380.jpeg (393.13Kb)

Omg, only just seen this, never met him, but he’s one of the names I knew well on here, certainly didn’t mince his words if he thought someone was talking cobblers, so he would’ve put me right a few times I’m sure!! RIP

If there is an afterlife perhaps Alan would be chuffed to see how well he was regarded.

Alan knew the game inside-out. He could spot deficiencies in formation (a word he didn't care for much), even as the teams were announced. On this occasion, (fuelled by high-energy alcoholic drinks), Alan came up with this master plan to defeat the opposition Attachment: Alaneagle1 tactics.JPG (362.22Kb)
