Groves was there for the taking as he was bang average. But Eubanks was useless and weak. His landed blows that stopped on impact. No power, no nothing really.

he really wasn't there for the taking though, controlled the fight at distance and caught him with the right as Chris was bum rushing forward. Was levels ahead in every department.

You literally have no idea about boxing. None.

Grove was not there for the taking, nor was he bang average. He controlled the fight throughout and schooled Eubank with a defensive masterclass.

Many people thought Eubank was going to win last night, he was even the bookies favourite and yet Grove won comfortably. Not sure how that is bang on average. Hell he even fought the last two minutes with one arm!

Groves does seem to struggle against top class opposition. Which kind of validates why Groves didn't look vulnerable against Eubank. Was Eubank a busted flush , or did Groves have the measure of the man and got his tactics spot-on ?

Groves has worked hard and earned his shot at the big prize. He ain't no Nigel Benn, or Marvin Hagler, or Sugar Ray Leonard, but he's tough as fck and warrants a shot for the big pay day.
Conversely, Eubank Jnr did all the wrong things and buckled.

This middleweight tournament reminds me of the British Middleweight Golden era of the 1990's. Boxers never swerved a fight, so you had Nigel Benn, Michael Watson, Chris Eubank Snr and Stephen Collins all getting it on, on a regular basis.
None of this Terry Lawless fixing Bruno against fat-@r5ed bums (and losing).

I think boxing, for me, has regained a bit of increased credibility

Selling tickets is a big part of boxing, Eubank can do that so he deserved his shot.

And there-in lies the paradox.
Did Bruno deserve any of his title fights on the basis of ticket sales ?
Did the Mayweather-Pacquio fight live up to the hype ?

Eubank jnr has been found-out. career over.

Or the worst example, McGregor-Mayweather.

Agree it doesn't look good for Eubank Jr above domestic level, but the super middle division is packed with Brits, so he'll have plenty of chances to atone for this defeat.

“There for the taking”, no mate.
You’ve obviously never sparred. When someone is meant to be a good boxer ‘on the inside’ they need to to get inside the opponents jab, when the opponent has a quick. Spiteful jab, like Groves, it’s a long 36 minutes.
As soon as Eubank felt Groves jab all the bravado f*cked off back to Brighton.
Eubank was poor, bacause Groves made him poor. Too small and with no plan B.
