Yeah, we can make a case about anyone. But there are 50 strikers who can do those things better than Barnes and who are within the price point

I was only saying the goalkeeper in the summer; I assumed the other four would be coming in the next day or so.

Of course, this was all tongue in cheek anyway. If we have enough budget to sign Amadou, Babacar, Livermore and Barnes then I will be very surprised.

I agree, there is a case for him as part of the team. Personally, I feel less uncomfortable with Barnes than I did with an unhappy wantaway Eder.

Albeit that Eder may have had the ability to take us further than Barnes.

why would we ever want to sign barnes I can understand people calling him a "team player" at burnley.

However there is no getting away from the fact that he still loves the seaweed and loathes the palace and still cannot hit a barn door (115 Apps 17 Goals).

F*** off barnes, jog on son !

Right now I have so much confidence in our coaching staff I am convinced that whatever talent Barnes had to get him where he is, they will flush it out.

Also, strikers at Burnley are second class citizens. He will be loved with us...

Barnes would be an excellent signing. It's as much about mindset/attitude in the premier league as it is about skill and special game-winning ability.

Someone like Barnes will be the striker who chases down the opposition goalkeeper to get the Holmesdale off their chairs in the first minute and the last minute of a football match, something Benteke will never do. The attitude of Barnes can never be questioned (just look at the guys performances this year), we could do a LOT worse than this guy.

Teams like Palace need willing runners like Barnes, remember Parish commenting that he regretted selling Campbell? Do you think this was down to his 1:1 goalscoring ability? Absolutely not, it was his contagious running ability, never say die attitude, Barnes is a similar type.
