He had been useless at Leicester, lost all confidence and Francis purchased him.
Split up the Morrison/Freedman partnership and was useless for us.
Drove a blooming great big Merc with blacked out windows.
Still Francis redeemed himself getting Andrew (AJ) as a makeweight for Clinton.

On reflection, those blacked-out windows were a very shrewd move. Shame his personalised number plate was a bit of a giveaway, as I recall.

Has Shefki Kuqi got a mention yet?

Kuqi was the start of our decline into a second administration.

But Akinbiyi is the only player I can remember who's wages we've had to play after he left.

Good shout on Fryers in terms of value for money.

Bit unfair mentioning him in same breath as the others. Horrific injury did score winning goal in semi final, the only other one to do this has become a legend (or was)

This thread is giving me flashbacks. There's a lot of players on these lists that I've been trying hard to forget, and now I'm recalling the glory days of Shefki Kuqi and Michele Padovano.

My therapy bill is going to be enormous.

I would say Benteke came with a big reputation as a goalscorer. Never makes in the box runs a top goalscorer would.

Must be Shefti Kuqi.

A million enough to cripple Palace and we were not the only club to suffer from him as after he played for several clubs taking them for as much as he could did a lot of damage.

If I am correct his 1 million fee was the root of the ultimate administration, Palace had the debt hanging over them for years.

How times have changed what is that 1 million now, 150 million??????

We bought quite a few players for a similar fee so he's not the only one. Paul Ifill, Nick Carle.

Valerian Ismael was £2.8m. Most of our transfers that season were tosh.

I'd agree with Fryers and Mutch being big, big wastes of money.
