Agree. Keep the transfer fee and offer the current crop £500k per winning goal for the remaining 14 games.

I think a lot of us on the HOL have quite a lot of doubts about this one, but the Doug used to be very good at picking a good player. Lets hope he still has the knack... but it doesnt look at the moment if this deal is going anywhere very fast if at all

Obviously all reports are hearsay anyway but if they are to believed looks like your typical palace transfer. As others have pointed out fingers crossed he’s taking in the sights of Florence as well.

We shouldn't spend more time with this and focus our attention to get Dembele!

That’s who we should sign! This is the biggest load of nonsense I have read in a while. 1 goal in a season from a 31 year old journeyman with nothing to prove and no real desire to come here. Or an English speaking 23 year old who is the Leagues top scorer for a second year running, has bags of pace and everything to prove coming from a lower league. As for Dwight, it’s a shame he wasn’t the right answer long term, but he was top scorer 2 years in a row for us and we made a profit when we sold him, he goes down as a successful transfer in my book.

If this deal does see the light of day let's hope it doesn't turn out into Padovano Mark 2. Agree with your sentiments concerning the Posh lad.

Very good summary. I can see the logic of signing this kind of player, and we shouldn’t underestimate the tenacity of Doug and Hodgson. But personally I would be very relieved if it falls through

Inter won't accept our offer of a loan fee of £2m with the option to buy for £8m in the summer because of FFP (apparently). They want Sturridge on loan which will cost them £2m. They are offering Joao Mario to West Ham on loan for £2m loan fee with option to to buy for £26m. However West Ham won't give them the loan fee they want. We're willing to cover Sturridge loan fee with our loan fee offer of Eder, which should cover them for FFP. If they're worried about wages and Mario's are much higher, take both our loan fee and West Ham, getting more than the Sturridge loan fee and two players wages off the books. Perhaps they're not convinced with Eder's ability to secure his eventual sale to us in the summer and don't want it advertised to any potential suitors.
