So you think he has done a worse job, than the 3 previous Chairmen. Be careful what you wish for.

I said that? I said I believe he's taken us as far as he can as a Chairman.

You can probably raise an argument against every one of those points, but the one highlighted is pure rubbish. SA departure was a shock and the selection of FdB was rushed. Given more time, we may have gone for Roy. Who knows?

SA stuffed us. Another reason why it annoys me every time I see him hailed as a saviour when all he did was take advantage of the purchase of 4 key players.

Of course SA leaving was a shock. But I'm pretty sure that Parish himself said he did his due diligence in selecting FdB, knowing the style and formation he choses.

I remember when Liverpool were in for FdB, there was an article on FdB's managerial ability. He changes all the youth system to suit the first team in formation, style etc.

Hansy be careful what you wish for,Parish might well have taken us as far as he can.
Crystal Palace Top 20 in England.
Many Big clubs below us.
Anywhere between 9th and 17th and the club is doing superb.
Amazing after a couple of good results Holers come on here to try to find fault with Parish.
No wonder we are known as “Nigel’s “

Personally I don't blame parish for appointing FdB. On the face if it I was quite excited about his appointment. A good, young manager who wanted to take us to the next level and playing good football. What f****d us was the revolution and not gentle evolution that we were apparently promised.

No doubt Parish has his faults, and has made a few errors along the way, but he is the chairman who has overseen our longest stint in the PL and who has bold plans for the new stadium. Not too bad I reckon.
Now make sure Roy is backed in the transfer window because our squad looks dangerously thin!

I'm not so sure this was the case...it took weeks and weeks to get FdB

I'd agree with this...I certainly wanted FdB to work...but I'm also happy that he acted swiftly when he felt it wasnt.

Benefit of hindsight, the show of optimism behind hiring a manager to 'take us to the next level', he was probably the right choice. The playing staff we have and the size of the club, its not realistic without massive spending on players. We'd need 'proper' wing backs, and a couple of more mobile central defenders who have experience of playing in a back three.

It was however a good move, when realising that FdB wasn't the right choice, to replace him and cut their losses, going for a traditional lower to mid level Premiership manager.

We'll never really be in a position to become a 'bigger player' in this league by playing the same game as the top teams. Someone like Roy however, has experience of taking teams like Fulham to European spots. Thats what we need to focus on - Managers who can a) keep us up b) occassionally deliver something above average in a good season.

He's done great to get us where we are, no doubt about that. But every season we are fighting relegation. We're struggling to break that currently, unless we upgrade our youth facilities, training facilities.

Not sure how hard it is to get tickets at Selhurst, as I just use my ST. But I will have thought those take priority than a stand to increase capacity by 8k.

We are in a 14 Team group whose priority is to stay up each season.
Endeavouring to improve your “team” each season.
To do that you have to pick up points with draws and wins.
That is the hard part.
And why so called established teams eg Stoke are also struggling this season.

Stoke haven't struggled every season though.

Correct. 2 points off 18th; but 3 points off 10th; and with an upwards-only trajectory.

Such hubris often ends in disaster. Many of you on here are treating Premiership survival as a done deal. We are nowhere near safe yet. Half the season to go still.
