Whether it's a silly rule or not it's the rulr so it shuld have been enforced. Especially given that the foul was on Wilf therefore doesn't count. However for better or worse this offence is seldom called out by refs. See earlier remarks about their being s***.

I never speculated that the referee never saw it as a back pass. Edited by Willo (06 Dec 2017 6.55pm)

Finally, I don't rely on Wiki/Google for player information as a matter of course.Somehow I manage to retain a knowledge of players and as one chap said to me a while ago in front of my wife "You are a walking encyclopedia on football" after I engaged in conversation with him in a bar, well away from any PC.Now that I am 65, whether I retain the knowledge is a matter for conjecture. Edited by Willo (06 Dec 2017 6.26pm) The intention of my post was to try and get others to avoid engaging you in conversation about referees. But as ever you predictably reply to everything. In two post you have stated referees are right 98% or the time to saying the err from time to time. My interpretation is that these two statements are completely contraditory. I'm glad your views on football have a been accredited by a random guy at a bar with your wife bearing witness. That must have been a nice moment for you. Since my post I've noticed that this discussion has gone back to being about you. I may have made a mistake by calling you out there. With that in mind, please try and refrain from responding to every single post in exactly the same way so everyone else can get back to talking about football.

In his defence, I am happy to accept this as an honest mistake. From the few indirect free kicks I've seen from back passes I can't remember any going in. It's not really in the spirit of the rule either. We didn't do enough to win last Saturday. He didn't make that fact up. PGMOL did. However, it proves nothing, even if it's true. 2% wrong is still 25% of matches ruined by poor decisions. I proved this on another thread. Argumentum ad ignorantium. My statistic of 98% is wholly consistent with my assertion that referees DO err from time to time. I find it befuddling why you have asserted otherwise but this is a matter for yourself. As for the "Random guy at bar", I refrained from saying who he was for reasons I shall keep to myself.I only used it as an example to indicate that I don't wholly rely on Wiki/Google when I discuss detailed matters about players and the like. This does of course not make me a panjandrum or elevate me to a position of levity but I am just stating the facts. As for being about me, I specifically stated that I would refrain from commenting on certain matters as I did NOT wish it to turn into a WILLO thread. Regards my response to posts, all I have done is to pass on my views about various comments, which others of course do on here.

Edited by Willo (06 Dec 2017 7.06pm) Are you just stating facts or are you making them up 98% of the time? Can you sort your nonsense? The stark contradiction and unwillingness to accept anyone else's point of view simply indicates to me that you are one of those dangerously thick people who thinks he's intelligent based on the fact you opt to use a slightly different vocabulary to everyone else. Who knows, all I know is you respond to everything they say you don't want to turn this into a willow thread. There's a simple solution to that. Please stop trolling these boards.

Are they to be amended?
