I mean, imagine if s*** like that was actually happening! Thing is, people with right wing views complained about Bob Crowe living in his council house. Can't live anywhere... It's like the politics of envy and champagne socialist argument. Nothing left when you take those 2 out of the equation.

I think there should be enough council housing for those that choose not to saddle themselves with a mortgage to rent. Perhaps rents should be tied to a percentage of income... The only reason we bought a place was because a mortgage was considerably cheaper per month than rent. Rental housing stock for all!

Not enough council housing....Tories won't focus on it because there are to few votes in it for them compared to the cost. But to be fair it's been a major failing of all governments since Thatcher started selling them off. They should have Major/Blair/Brown/Cameron up in front of a committee.

As I said, hypocrisy is human nature.

In the context that it was brought up, because apparently its hypocritical to be left wing and live in a nicer house. Personally I don't agree, but that was the context - it was in relation to hypocracy, not whether someone should live in a council house, when they have a good income (of course they shouldn't, where ever feasible council property should be provision for those who cannot afford rents).
