I am talking about now not the past. The role was created at Sunderland and at Crystal Palace. Seems simple to understand.

With respect, your terminolgy suggested he made a career out of it so I am grateful you have offered some clarification.

I won't waste time by going on about it but I did not in any way suggest he has made a career out of being a "keeper-upper", merely that he appears to have created that role for himself now.

I am pleased to have clarified the matter for you.

My last word on the subject. He appears to be trying to create a third "keeper-upper" role for himself at Everton.

One could forensically examine your wording and get into a debate but we will draw a line in the sand on this matter. You have clarified that you were referring to the more immediate.Let's move on !

We obviously don't know what discussions have taken place so I couldn't possibly comment. All speculation.

he told talksport no talks had taken place (broadcast yday). i would rather he went to an Everton (almost sure to stay up anyway) than a Swansea (very wobbly).

They sold Llorente, Cork and Sigurdsson for some £70 Mill but the players they have brought in haven't 'Hit the ground running'.

Bony at £12 Mill has been injured, Mesa cost £11 Mill, Sanches cost a loan fee of £4 Mill, not sure of the loan fee for Abraham.I think all-round, their squad is not as strong as it was last season.

Maybe Benteke will be in contention for that game.

Hopefully, although he's pencilled in for the week after, against Stoke. Plus is he likely to be straight back in the starting line up after so long?

In all likelihood a place on the bench but this could depend on whether Zaha/Townsend pick up injuries (God forbid). If he does start I doubt he will play the whole 90 mins.

He's going to instantly slot in fully fit, in form, and perfectly, as will everyone to him. He'll score loads. The amount a top 7 club striker scores in prime form, which is what we need. In 8 games, any team that knows we need a win more than them will crumble under the constant pressure of sitting deep and our reliability to keep clean sheets with the ultra reliable Scott Dann and Wardy sitting on the halfway line won't be a problem.

Well enough fine. The good form without results will continue for another 8 games with results. We're going to brush 5 of these 8 teams aside, no problem. God, Roy is going to have to be magnificent this season, rather than just fine.
