you are correct, i will defend players & the club, maybe thats because i am realistic in my expectations, as the great homer simpson once said “aim low, acheive your goals, avoid dissapointment”

but did we have money for all the players you say after selling yannick? as havnt the club actually made a loss over the past few years, and actually borrowed from the next years PL cash cow money (risky buisness) just to keep up with the jones’ in transfer window with (i assume) the losses being made up by the owners.

also rudi we defo did not have to sign both schlupp & PVA in january we could have easily signed 1 of them and stayed up!

im not on any HOL radio agenda i just say things as i see them, but ive said every season all i want is for us to stay up on goal difference and would be over the moon with that, i think your older than me, im 35 so all ive ever known is midtable 2nd tier football with the odd flirtation with the big boys, thats why i dont expect the world, and would accept the bare minimum...im suprised you expect more than that given youve experienced curtis flemming/james scowcroft/andy morrison/tony craig/andy linaghan/frazier digby to name a few...f*** i forgot jamie pollock!

Yes we bl00dy did have the money. Again, for the umpteenth time, we had the money to begin with and then it cost us more in January.

We didn't have both Schlupp and PVA available until Hull so yes we did need both or we would've been relegated. If we didn't fvck about taking chances and bought 1 in August we might not have needed to buy 2 at inflated prices in January.

Hol agenda? I'm just comparing you to what you hear on there now it's going so badly wrong. Parish has been lucky there's been an escape artist available to correct things and make all the decisions to keep him from messing it up further. Without them it's going in one direction.

It's because of this acceptance and perceived inevitably you share with others that I'm done wishing it to be ok. It's a loser attitude that incidentally Parish said we need to be rid of. Then under the pressure and waffling there's the regret of Campbell.

We deserved, should have, and could have afforded better. But we signed a big player twice and ignored elsewhere, all starting with the left back debacle.

would you care to back that bold statement up? as from what ive read weve been in the red over the last few years, especially not bentekkers & zaha earn north of £100k a week, with cabaye/townsend/dann not far behind them. like i previously said i think weve borrowed against the following years PL cash so its nit like were swimming in a scooge mcduck money pit.

look at these stats [Link] last summer we were at 80% of turnover spent on wages thats without zaha new contract/PVA/schlupp/luca/sakho wages...abd you think weve got money to throw around.

i emplore you to actually look at the facts before making sweeping statements about how we can throw money around...but isuppose its rasy when its not your money, hey!!!

Rudi,
So much dislike of Parish.Don’t you get fed up with posting the same tosh day in day out.?
For what it’s worth both PVA and Schlupp featured in the Stoke Away defeat.
Weeks before Hull.

You excuse and settle for any old cr&p. You're obviously comfortable with that. As Parish said, 'Stop the loser mentality.' Then under pressure the Campbell regret.

If this was inevitable I'd accept it. I've been a fan for long enough to understand that. But it isn't inevitable.

Tosh? Tosh is turning up for inevitable failure and the first 3 games written off every season just to make sure it's a season long struggle.

I dislike us chucking this all away due to gross negligence. I don't know Parish or dislike or hate him as a chairman. I hate the opportunity that's been flushed away because of control and bad control at that. Unless there's a top manager making the big calls it's a shambles.

You're right that both PVA was starting and being subbed for Schlupp for 3 games from the Stoke game and then PVA was injured for 8 games, so again, yes we needed the 2 of them because of the disaster we were steered into due to negligent squad planning and management.

i dont settle for any old crap i just know when my breads buttered fella.

remember when armstrong got banned for drugs, didnt we have george ndah as backup?

during our last PL season if AJ got injured we had the magical sandor torghelle as backup

if you had actually been a long term fan you would understand rather than expect the club to s*** miracles...let me just recap this for you incase you dont understand.

1) we are in the grand scheme of things small fry in PL terms
2) we cannot hold our own with the big boys
3) we are punching above our weight currently
4) we are stretching our finances to the limit

we are however against all the odds holding our own and we should be proud of this.

If you think five points adrift at the bottom after nine games is "holding your own" then delusional isn't the word.

You said it. We had someone to stand in. Remind me who's available to play centre forward? 2 ex forwards in parish's ear and we start the season without anyone and the money actually there to buy one. And any money issues were made more of an issue because of LB.

If we're fighting against the odds and all that, why are we not having an effective scouting system saving us wages like with Luka instead of lashing out on wages on every single one that's been in several panini albums? I suppose it's unavoidable and we had to max out being small fry?

And you viewing us as deserving of bottom or bottom 3 or small fry compared to the whole division tells me you revert to that default setting of defend the indefensible. We can't mix it with the big boys in the top 6 to 9 but we can with the rest of the league places. No, what we're currently doing is losing to half the division but you're okay with that so crack on.

We have had five seasons now to establish ourselves and yet still we struggle, we should and are perfectly capable of being a good average PL team, however what we lack is leadership at the top, we currently have chairman who is out of his depth, the situation we are in is because we have failed to secure cover upfront when the chairman was already fully aware that Wickham was going to be out until early next year at best and yet he allowed us to go forward with only one striker, he strings everything out to the last possible moment can't make decisions and when he does he gets a high percentage of them wrong!

Parish stated himself we are fine with wages and safe to being not on the edge of ffp so you need to stop looking at guess work stats all these figures online about how much people get is guessing.

do you think football clubs work by making big profit which then allows them to spend on players? no it doesn't work that way just take a look at all the big clubs in this country every one of them has loans/debts but they still go out and spend a lot.

the problem is parish doesn't want to spend out of his pocket so he is like you are saying he wants it all balanced out which any business person knows it doesn't work like that also his foolish choices end up making him pay out more with trying to delay things.

the club is in this state because it starts with owners downwards just look at other clubs that have struggled like this and even been relegated it's the same case awful owners.

the squad is not that great we have some name players but a lot of the squad is poor this is why people kept saying we needed minimum 5 new players how many was it we got 2 loan and 2 perm, one of them hardly gets any game time.
