Oh dear, I'm sure at the end of the day Roy probably wouldn't give two hoots as he's got far better things to worry about. However, on his behalf "HONK "HONK" there ... it's settled!

Have to agree, it's pathetic that people still think it's funny.

Look at the mess James Corden got into with his ‘jokes’ – if the material is good you’ll get away with it. If not you’ll look like a right idiot. Imagine thinking that being billionth person on the internet to call him ‘Woy’ makes you funny.

The OP is a palace fan. He's saying it in a way which is not meant to be derogatory but affectionate I guess
Man is the most insane species. He worships an invisible God and destroys a visible Nature. Unaware that this Nature he’s destroying is this God he’s worshipping. Hubert Reeves |

Oh I see, So you're ok with 'banter' as long as it fits in with your extremely high interlectual standards and definitely doesn't involve anything ever printed by that nasty working class tabloid newspaper The Sun.
You definitely got the nasty tabloid bit right but I'm its entirely unfair of you to equate my standards of 'banter' to be a little more intelligent with being anti working class. I believe You can have banter with out being down right insulting and you can certainly be both working class and intelligent.

The magnificent art of using word play, opinions, exaggeration, irony, sarcasm, and other comedic themes to (playfully) HUMILIATE, make fun of, and laugh at your friends. This word is most commonly used in Britain, and is called banter
