Drink and drug addicted woman with eating disorder, into BSDM, who stabbed her boyfriend is spared jail so that she can pursue her goal of a career as a heart surgeon.
Football coach has to resign because he had a consenting relationship with a colleague some years ago.
What a brave new world of total lack of common sense, standards and judgement we live in.

I simply could not believe the sentence. If that was a young lad off an estate who did that at a football match he'd be in jail. Young, educated woman not in jail. That isn't justice.

It's hard to disagree with this. Being a privileged, educated female shouldn't be a get out of jail free card.

I agree with your sentiment, but the comparison you've used is a bit extreme. 1) carrying a knife in public and taking it to a football match is a much more serious offence in my view than having a bread knife to hand indoors (i accept that the use of the knife is equivalent in both cases). 2) how would a young lad off a council estate afford to be at a football match in the first place, assuming you are talking about the Prem

For the avoidance of doubt, 2) is meant as a satirical joke.

Agree. What next - a footbal coach getting sacked for losing the first four matches of a season following his appointment?

Unfortunately she might give you a thorough stabbing for your troubles.

Fair point. I'll change it to a young Palace supporter who gets home after another defeat and his elder sister takes the pee and he stabs her. I still think he wouldn't get the same sentence and he has even more mitigating factors.

Are you Lieutenant Steven Haulk?

Well if I was on the jury, I couldn't possibly convict him!
