I largely agree. Although I don't think you can say he's been incompetent since he took over. He's ridden his luck at times and not all his decisions have been good ones, but overall he has been a decent chairman. I think his performance over the last two years has been below par. The dictionary defines serendipity as "the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way" and I think that there is a large element of the school of serendipity management in our case. Everyone is always saying that we should be grateful to SP for getting us into the Premiership but even then serendipity was at work as one has to wonder if we would have managed promotion if it weren't for the happy accident of having a young kid in the juniors who would turn out to be an absolute wing wizard

I just can't belive how naive we would be to go into the season with 1 striker, especially after last season with the souare incident. If we do get lucky then we should look no further than Watford with how they run their club and go down that route.

I find it astonishing that Holers love to find someone to blame. Years ago we played a game won or lost, had a moan in the Pub and then moved on to the next game. Nowadays its the Manager at fault, (lose 3 games and your out). Now with Palace its Parish at fault. As Parish said on the HOL Radio if your going to blame him for all the bad, he must surely be praised for all the good. We need a Win.Enjoy the Prem whilst we are in it, because when we leave it, we will be gone for a while.

That's because they've adopted a model from abroad where the managers only responsibility is the first team, every other position in terms of running a football club are filled with candidates for the long term allowing you to have longevity regardless of how many times you chop and change managers, which would suit us.

I am not privy to any discussions between Parish and the American investors but it is feasible that they are not impressed and asking "What the hell is going on ?". We don't know how involved they might be in the decision making process either. It is entirely possible that they have vetoed some deals or pushed for others - at the end of the day they own twice as much of the club as SP does. Perhaps it's time he took a back seat & brought in a CEO/COO to run the football side of things with Dougie - it's why I suggested he have a chat with Cortese a while back.

It was Parish that hired and then fired a manager after 3 games. And I think he has been given credit for the good work that he has done. We all have our own opinions about how the club should be run, but ex-players, journalists and pundits alike - the so-called experts in other words - have all criticised the way its currently being run. It was Steve Parish himself that said we should forget the past and stop the small club mentality but we seem to be reverting to type which is a shame in our 5th consecutive year in the Premier.

I don't know for certain as I don't get involved in such conversations but it is feasible that the Americans don't get involved in such level of detail in terms of transfer activity and that Parish operates on the basis of 'Delegated powers' working to a framework. In truth I am not 100% about the business relationship that Parish has with the Americans and how much influence they bring to bear on a plethora of decisions.

This is not a new mistake. It's another repeat of one. Those are the key issues. This isn't supposed to be a rag tag outfit like Millwall.
