We've had that odd problem for decades. Our throws are pathetic yet we let the oppo have a free receiver or do a one-two unchallenged. Pathetic.

Hopefully once Sakho is fit he can be made Captain, this releases Puncheon to be dropped both from that role and on to the bench. Wilf's return in October should then start to cause opposition defences problems and ease the pressure a bit on our defence. Thereafter it is a case of looking for a right back and another striker.
Taking the bungy jump since 1964. Never to see John Jackson in a shirt again Sorry to see Lee Hills go, did we ever see Alex Marrow? We did January 2013 |

Mensah as RB. Better shop for a RB in June though, if we stay up, among other positions and possibly manager.

Edited by spartakev2 (19 Sep 2017 11.16am) That is one of my main complaints, There is no excuse for it, I've seen far more mobile lower league teams. We were also one of the worst in the league for distance covered last year. Even if we accept the argument that the players are skilled enough, there is no excuse for the lack of work rate.
If you come to a fork in the road, take it. |

Look how many of them seem knackered after seventy minutes.

When we learn to chase the ball when opposition has it like a unit, we'll improve. Our players seem to be running around with no purpose - Townsend prime example.

There are always very few options when Cabaye or Luka pick the ball up from defence and look forward. Everyone is stood like statues and we are forced to play it sideways to Schlupp/PVA or Ward. The lack of movement of the more advanced midfield players is particularly poor.

We have been one of he poorest performers in terms of player movement for several seasons. I get that the players are not that technically gifted as a team, but there really is no excuse for not running or passing into space.

Can't really blame Wardy regarding throuw ins, seems he has to take them all on the right hand side of the pitch,by the time he has had to move some distance our somewhat static players are marked.Nearest person to ball going out should be the person taking the throw sometimes.
