I seem to recall that when we had Sam Allardyce as manager we did lose to Swansea and Burnley ... in the one case with a heavily pardewed squad and in the other with a zlew of injuries to centre-backs.

He is a total w***er, full of himself, We are in the process of seeing his lack of responsibility for anything coming across again, All the rumours (and remember they are just rumours) probably have a vein of truth but thats all. I am sure at some point the other side of the argument will come out. I ask myself why is a businessman interfering in football affairs, Why is he on a big jolly on all the tours, He is not a footballing genius. I really hope he gets help in running the club before he puts it back where he picked it up from. I don't think he is good for the club, He is out of his depth big time Edited by Medway Eagle (14 Sep 2017 8.25pm) Because he was alarmed (as we all were) by what he saw? The amount of threads on here about changing the system back to 4231, yet when it happens Parish is 'meddling'.
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |

Rudi you have no idea what Frank said during the ridiculously long recruitment process. He is Frank De Boer - he has been around the block a bit and has worked with some top managers, and got the Inter Job on the back of a very good reputation as a player and coach alike. Parish got stars in his eyes thinking about Swansea and Southampton, and went out and hired a manager who made his name of playing patient possession style football, with strong technical players - perfect fit for Palace dont you think? What do you mean by his "real intentions"? Dont you think he wanted to be successful at this club and win games? On the flip side we can only guess at what Parish told FdB in the interview process, but I doubt it was - we wont sign a backup striker or keeper in the transfer window, and will fart around on Sakho until the last minute clouding and disrupting our ability to do other deals. I would rather look at the architect of this situation, Mr Parish. Its one thing to make a bit of a mistake after spending 33 days hiring a manager, but this is an absolute howler of epic proportions. If after all of this time, he can make a clanger like that, I dont really trust him to run the club tbh. What would I propose I hear you cry - I propose he finds a suitable buyer and sells up. I know De Boer didnt help himself but there is something rotten at the club and the way things are being done at the minute. If you really think he agreed with Parish how rapidly he was going to make his mark on things then I'm surprised people think that way. If he did, which is ridiculous, he lied to us anyway and he's still stupid, arrogant, naive, careless over our future before you get onto Parish.

What Pariyis good at correcting mistakes in direction. Unfortunately what he's good at before that is making decisions that lead to them. There is no 'Parish love in' but then again i don't think he's a w&nker. He needs someone experienced and non Palace or acquiescent in nature to run the football stuff.

Do I think he agreed with Parish on how rapidly he would make his mark???? Who making what mark? Dont follow. Naive, stupid, careless, and arrogant. Lets get on to Parish. Naive - makes an error for the ages with hiring the manager, and once again goes into a transfer window like a schoolboy. Stupid - Allows ourselves to be in a position where we have 1 fit striker at the correct level and a goalie no one trusts. Careless - Seems to treat running the club like he is a fan instead of a chairman. Arrogant - meddles in first team affairs and who wants to be on Dragon's Den unless you are arrogance personified.

Nah you wouldn't, probably because for some reason you don't want to. I don't disagree on a lot of what you say on Parish here but you crazily think the 2 of them agreed on full steam ahead but Frank would tell the interviewer on the training field it would be gradual and then tell the world it's 3-4-3 because it suits us when it clearly doesn't. Every pundit I heard and read said it wouldn't and anybody who knows our team from watching about 2 games knows it wouldn't yet you seem to think Parish agreed all of that. Incidentally Frank said 4-3-3 was his preferred anyway so 3-4-3 as an agreement in this rapid change is even more nonsensical.

Although I remember some seriously suggesting at the start of his reign that he had taken the club to lower than Pardew depths. In my opinion it's a lot more to do with being opposed to a different culture of football than many would like to admit. All this nonsense that foreign managers don't work but that theory has been obliterated too many times now for it to really be taken seriously.
Just like your opinion , which is all in your head.

Guys, let's just move on. We've got a really tough run of games coming and Roy needs all our help (positive thoughts, good vibes, karma, OOOOOOMMMMM, scented candles...) yeah that's all crap, we just need to roll with it. Let's hope for a good outcome at Southampton.

The 'Board' have taken firm and decisive action early in the PL campaign. What has happened has happened. One can forever debate about the appointment of FDB and his subsequent early dismissal and hurl brickbats at those responsible for these actions. What IS important is that we give Hodgson and the players our full support at a time when they need it most. There is plenty of time for us to revive our fortunes and we have an experienced manager who supported the club from the terraces. We have EVERY chance of surviving in the PL, so let's give "Our Roy" a gargantuan cheer on Saturday and get right behind the players.

I'd rather not have that in our club putting us at risk. You would, fair enough. You don't have a clue what you are talking about and are being deliberately obtuse as we aren't discussing what you want us to discuss so you just pretend that we are. For the umpteenth time I was answering a specific point that had absolutely nothing to do with what you are waffling about. Comments like "If you're gutted so be it" are just plain stupid as you haven't a clue how I feel about Frank's departure and won't glean any information about my feelings from what I have posted so although it may be hard for you please stick to facts and not fairy tales

I am all for giving time but I'm sorry, FDB was doomed from that first game. It was a shambles. Swansea too was a shambles and rather than hols his hands up and say tactically he'd got it wrong he started questioning player desire. After three games that is utter madness. Yes, palace don't come out well in all this but I have to say, I'm please he's gone. Parish deserves a lot of stick for appointing him but the decisive way he got rid will actually save our season.

He's a top class manager. He's managed some top top clubs. I'm really excited, we'll be organised and passionate again like under big Sam.
