It looked like de Boer had pardewed Milivojevic before a ball was even kicked and was well on his way to pardewing Ward and Kelly. He then proceeded to start Lee on Sunday when both Milivojevic (presumably) and van Aanholt were available, and has thrown players under the 'bus after each game. We can then add to that the fact that he was playing the wrong style in contradiction to discussions he had with the Board, which even if it had worked would still have been a breach of trust.

I subscribe to the view that as well as getting nulle points in four games he has also upset the apple cart by behaving like a t**t.

Which is obviously the real reason why he is out on his arse.

Spot on.

Noone comes out of this at all well. De Boer may have been given false promises of funds for new players, but to be pig-headed and to steam-roller on his new formation with clearly the wrong players was selfish in the extreme.

He should have seen that from the start, and if so walked before a ball was even kicked. At least we would be on 0 points with 38 games left.

I have calmed down - just.
I think it is a shame that FDB has gone but as this thread headlines and what none of us know is the real reason behind his sacking.
Laddo's post is very good and is probably pretty accurate.
At the end of the day SP appears to have made a mistake or been duped when appointing FDB and the ship was very unsteady.
He didn't sit back and watch it sink - he acted/reacted and as I trust him implicitly to do the best for the Club I can only presume that there is far more to it than we will ever know.
Do I agree with Hodgson being appointed - not a jot I'm afraid as it is short term and here we go again!

Delaney appears to be a bit of a trouble maker as he has made known in the past that he didn't like certain players including Glen Murray and it wouldn't surprise me if he was the team's shop steward.

Kelly apparently didn't like being told that he wasn't good enough but that's something that most HOLers have been saying for ages and reading between the lines de Boer would have unloaded him in the transfer window but Parish interfered and wouldn't sell him.

Ward allegedly didn't like being told to sit out a training session so that he could watch from the sidelines how a wingback should play. The only word that springs to mind is "diddums"

de Boer was supposed to be a football club manager not a nursemaid to highly paid prima donnas so Parish needs to make sure that the job specification for the new manager includes the fact that the person needs to be an experienced mummy

I'm normally in broad agreement with your posts, but this one demonstrates that you know little, if anything at all, about people-management. It's particularly important to be good at keeping a team onside when you're attempting to initiate major changes and alienating individuals, notwithstanding your views on their abilities, will not work. To be a success as a manager requires that you have the respect of the people you're managing and that they have confidence in you. The attitude you've demonstrated in your post is most likely the very same one that got de Boer the sack. Sorry, but you don't get a group of people to give you their best and support you to the hilt by bullying them.

There is so much speculation on this matter and I will not make any comment.

All I will say is that you don't sack your manager after his first 4 games in charge based on results alone.

I agree and especially when the last outing, whilst unsuccessful, did show some evidence of steps in the right direction.

Of all the countless posts of unsubstantiated rumors, this says it all in a nutshell.
SP should be given credit for removing him, before it got worse.

I heard someone ask the question yesterday that had we won at Burnley on the back of that performance would FDB have still been removed of his duties ?

He went on to speculate that if Parish and the 'Board' had made their decision before the game why didn't they sack FDB beforehand and put Lee in charge on an 'Interim' basis as a win at Burnley followed by a sacking would have seemed totally ludicrous to supporters and the outside world.

I overheard this and never got involved in the discussion !

Just giving him more rope to hang himself, that's all.
