4 games seems harsh. But in a league of very tight margins it's still 10% of the season and a run of matches where I would have expected us to pick up 7 of the 40 points target for survival. Given that we have no points, no goals, hardly any shots, and look totally uncomfortable defending plus a run of Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea coming up there's a very good chance we could be cut adrift before 10 games have been played. Burnley away is now a must win. I hope he has a change of fortune like we did with Freedman in 2012/13. If we don't, he has to go. I would say a "Must not lose" game.

I would have taken a point had the first 3 games not been so abysmal. As we dropped 6 points vs Huddersfield and Swansea we now need all 3 here.

When you chairman not denying constant media rumours about the manager future. I guess his mind made up. I didn't mention about financial backing in this thread. I know your post was in reply to Willo. I wasn't calling you out for not replying to me. I'm not that precious. I was just repeating my question because after my question you were repeating your claims of not backing the manager during the thread. I have highlighted the keywords as to why it would be a good idea to chill. So you know it yourself, maybe a little persuasion. There are a couple of reasons why Parish shouldn't or shouldn't need to 'publicly back Frank.' 1. It's the dreaded vote of confidence and if he is sacked then that opens up more arguments. 2. He's already stated what I've said above regarding 'results, Frank knows this, if we don't get them, well.' 3. How does Parish know what the next 2 games will be? Could be brilliant, or could be terrible (see points 1 and 2).

There 3 valid points but when you take 6 weeks to appoint a manager and during this search saying you want to find the right man and also mention evolution not revolution. While I agree that parish expected a gradual change not a complete system change. He backed pardew long enough , so wether the next 2 results are bad or not he deserves to at least deny stories. From my point of view he seems to of undermined FDB by buying Sakho, not denying his not a great player but not 1 quote from FDB on Sakho. Parish is the main issue for me, Since Sam left - the whole transfer window and manager search has been amateur. How can a premier league side have 1 fit adequate striker, not of replaced mandanda. His the common denominator here. Like that tosun coming out saying I would of joined had it not been for a late bid by palace and the transfer had done earlier. Edited by Dan89 (07 Sep 2017 4.44pm)

Secondly Zaha is such a massive part of our team that we are a shadow of ourselves without him. With both those players in the first XI I think we may have scraped a draw against Liverpool and got something against Swansea irrespective of the formation. Onwards! Agreed we need our best two players back fit.

Edited by Dan89 (07 Sep 2017 4.44pm) As much as Pardew frustrated me he had some credit in the bank. But Frank has none, and has come in and what appears to be promise gradual changes and do the exact opposite. ask yourself, how would you respond to someone saying and doing that in a couple of weeks after starting the job and being given access to £45 million net spend, when you know yourself 3-4-3 is going to need £100 mil, Ward isn't in a million years a wing back and the chances of us getting 3 competent back 3 CB's is slim at best? And that's on top of keeper, back up striker, back up whatever else. Honestly mate, sometimes fans on here verge on the type of lazy criticisms coming from panellists and pundits. 'Lack' of funds and other sh1t. Parish has said its a results business, which it is. He hasn't 'publicly backed' Frank because the start, approach, selections, respect for palace, opponents and league has been not a lot short of arrogant and insulting. That's why. He needs to up his game and the 'results and Frank knows' comment needed saying. However, I hope Frank heeds this and we move forward.

Croydon Troll has excelled in his lack of knowledge yet again. He has no idea when we are playing.

I agree Parish shouldn't need to make a statement, even though he has saying its a results game and Frank knows this.

Generally speaking, as long as we kick it in the correct direction FDB will still be in charge on Monday no matter what the result is. (Win, lose, or draw).
