I know what you mean. Problem is I can imagine a (very unlikely) situation where things turn around & we go on a run beating everyone & by the time we've beaten the entire top 6 at theirs the crowd are still booing. FdB stands in the middle of the emirates pitch & shouts "are you not entertained?!" Full on Gladiator style

It's not about instant gratification, I've been going since 1978 so I know there are precious few moments of gratification supporting Palace.

It's about knowing when things are wrong at the club you support, regardless of how many games he's had , he's supposed to be an expert professional manager that is playing a system he never played at Ajax and now regardless of how painfully obvious it is to ever man and his dog, persisted with it.

If anyone else say well Sam took time , yes he did become he was undoing a year of s*** coaching from Al and the rest of his muppets (i.e. You should be happy salako).

The point is, though, we aren't much worse off than the same time last year. Pardew was still in a job despite us having the worst record in all four professional leagues in 2016 & he too had tried to implement a new way of playing he'd never played nor coached.

Yes, Huddersfield was a car crash but the result at Anfield was, on the face of it, a step forward. Swansea two steps back.

We don't know how things go on the training ground but it must be well enough for the team/tactics to be picked - the intention to be better at home. After such a short time it's impossible to truly conclude that FdB is a disaster and if he changes things around & we pick up a few good results who knows, the confidence gained could kick start our season.

I agree, it's not looking good so far but everyone needs to stop the hysteria for a couple of games & just get behind the lads. They've shown enough times over the years that if we give everything then they respond with the same.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

They are certainly "Behind the lads" they are just not behind FDB, whih after a mere 3 games is a tad bewildering.

The way I see it Crystal Palace lost the games thru Defensive errors rather than anything to do with the system they were playing. They also failed to convert many of the chances they created with some big opportunities missed and then lost confidence and concentration which led to the defensive errors.

Who is leading the witch hunt into FdB and who really expects that a manager would be able to manufacture a Win, Away from Home to decide his and the Club's Future in one game.

So is the Witch Hunt from the Fans or is it being directed by the Board and Management. I'm sure the non buying of players in the last week of the Transfer Deadline is more due to Board and Management as they took control away from FdB by appointing Dougie Freedman as Sports Director.

Apparently, they were not happy with FdB appointed players who have shown plenty of Promise and have been Palace's Standout players so Far. Has this upset the apple-cart within the Club for the other Players. Is this why the players are claiming to have lost faith in FdB?

Next point that nobody fails to mention are the injuries that started from the match at Home to Huddersfield. Zaha was fouled continually and the Ref happily waved no foul but the result has seen Zaha out for several weeks. Then Reidewald and Ruben Loftus Cheek have also been injured and missed games.

The one area that Players haven't adapted to is playing in different positions. From the practice matches Luka Milivojevic didn't apparently like playing as a Centreback and stated he would rather play in Midfield and since then FdB has played him in Midfield. Player Power seems to be very big these days and you only look to the Transfer Window with the battles between clubs and players to see proof of this. You need to be a well established Manager to control the forces within the club.

To end I will just say that I agree Statement of Lyons550 in the First Post of this topic that FdB should be given to Xmas because to expect results from one, two or three games is utterly ridiculous and would make Crystal Palace and it's fans the laughing stock of the competition. Also the nonsense that is being spoken from the press only aids the opposition teams and piles more pressure on both the manager and the Players.

Thanks for this post, your points are very well stated. The reason IMHO no-one mentioned the injuries (also Reidewald) is that the barrels started firing at Frank De Boar, a week before he was even appointed, first it was whether he could communicate well enough then to tactics than to losses and so on, they still continue to this day to make us the laughing stock of the competition as the least intelligent supporters in the premiership. It won't be long before TV comedians catch on and join in on the office humour at our expense.

[Link]

These guys most certainly have no intention to give any slack full stop, in fact, guess who they have lined in their sights already after ridding us off of Frank, that IMHO is now also blatantly obvious.

To not expect any results from 2 home games against 2 favorites from relegation at home is far more ridiculous if you ask me. Not to mention your rosy views on what has happened so far on the pitch......

Going back to topic title, perhaps the conference was delayed as the game is sunday not Saturday?

Saying that I always thought these conferences of ours were held on a Friday anyway, no?

It appears the delay was due to a change in the training schedule..but i can understand why the press made the assumption they did

Hi, I am sorry I don't agree, given that you think a team that was less equipped than the ones that only managed 1 win in the last 4 games at the end of the last season even with Sakho. Should have got a result against teams that had just spent in excess of 50 million each. With our home record.

Why was there no interest from any championship or lower divisions in any of in your view our defense line-up that should have stood against what you describe as relegation hopefuls?

Of course, I guess in your view, it was FDB's bad strategy at fault since you seem to disagree with any real clarity.

I personally think you seem to be happier with your view than facts.

But we were without Sakho from just after half-time in the Tottenham game until the end of the season. Prior to that we had beaten Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. Two of those last four games were away to Man City and Man Utd and, without Sakho, a potential struggle was predictable. We had a whole summer to address any problems, which we spent on appointing a manager and playing four friendlies practising a system that even the new manager hadn't played before.
