Quite so. Unless we can collar a couple of players he predicts FDB may go walkies.

Hopefully Frank is intelligent enough to realise that

You'd think so, but, as Dom Fifield commented on Sunday Supp, he didn't have the sense to start the Swansea match with a back 4 and he suggested that the writing was on the wall the minute he posted the team sheet.
Personally I'd prefer him to be given longer. I noticed in one of the links posted by Dan that Sakho is quoted as saying that FdB should be given more time.
But if he won't take the evolutionary path (which is what we're led to believe he'd been proposing) I don't think SP has much choice, and if he's going to sack him it would be as well to do it quickly.

Next weeks game away to Burnley could be a watershed for various reasons:
1. our current paper thin squad could fold early on,
2. we could end up bottom and not just on goal difference,
2. it could be FDB's last game.

I'm not really looking forward to it. Sunday lunchtime football is nonsense generally, especially up north away and I don't even have to travel from London anymore, so those who are coming up are true fans for sure.

If we lose, which quite frankly is more than likely, will it be goodnight Frank?

The over-riding 'Mood Music' is that FDBs stay will be short-lived with much talk about 'Back three' "Evolution", "Revolution" etc etc.

If FDB has started with a traditional 'Back four' and results had been the same would there be this narrative ? Let's not forget we hardly finished last season in style losing 4 of our last 5 games !

i think we really need to look at this after 10 games and by that if we havnt got near to 10 points then re-asses things. We only need to avergae a point a game to stay up.

What if Sakho is the missing link in the team, him and fose-mensah actually looks like a very good CB partnership with either dann/tomkins/dutch kid alongside them if its a 3 man defence.

you look at our team and it has got quality running thru it and i do think this style of play is possible. a 3 man midfield of luca/cabaye/loftus-cheek is pretty damn good and the 3 ahead of them are also mroe than good enough.

rome wasnt built in a day, but if/when this comes together and the players "get it" it should be a joy to behold. I fully accept we will get pulled to peices against the best teams but we should be able to play at least 10 other PL teams off the park.

You maybe right , unfortunately even de Boer himself claimed that Swansea was must win. The players have lost confidence in the manager. Also there's no just one rumour of him losing his job there's multiple. It probably the right decision to give him 10 games but let's say his fails in them 10 and has 2 or 3 pts. Then it's a 28 season to get 37 pts. Then you need to average over 1.3 pts per game and draws become irrelevant. I think Steve parish is making the right decision questioning Fdb position. I think it's more than just play 433 but actually playing to our forward strengths, which is not in his philosophy.

2 things.

1 - Holloway had to beg to be fired. Any other Premier League chairman (literally) would have fired AP after Swansea. When it comes to making swift and effective decisions, being dynamic and agile in the process, Parish is as dynamic and agile as an oil tanker in syrup. Maybe the yanks pull rank but still, dont expect Parish to move fast.

2 - If De Boer gets sacked any time in the next 3 games then Parish should go with him. How after dithering around for 3 weeks too long you can hire someone so completely and utterly wrong for the role that they get fired within the first 8 games, is at best shambolic, at worst totally negligent. How could someone get it so completely wrong? Parish doesnt seem to know how to learn from his mistakes.

I want him to be given time because I want to see us play a brand of football that gets us away from survival every season. The big problem is that we do not have many games to continue the change before we become too detached from the pack.
Someone did post that last year Stoke City did not win a game until October or something like that. If this is going to be the case for us then I doubt we could recover from that. The issue would then be as a club do we want the change that much that we will be prepared to perfect it via the Championship. Highly unlikely. Which can mean only one thing get us points or get out. Shame but life is tough.

Steve hasn't questioned the position of FDB.In response to a question from the media all he said was that football is a "Results business" implying that ANY manager who fails to get results is under pressure.Steve hasn't said FDBs hat is on a shaky peg - I don't believe that any chairman would be so specific about the position of the manager.

Here here ^^^^ you wasting your time accusing Steve parish on this board. You must be told he saved the club 7 years and is immune from criticism from so many.
