From the outside it appears our negotiations are a complete shambles and we are simply grasping at straws. In the "zoo" of the transfer window there is always roumour, counter roumor and rhetoric, which is magnified by media saturation and the constant demand for stories of potential deals. But there would seem little or no evidence of plans or strategy of what we are trying to achieve. At the start of the window - 62 days ago we knew minimum we needed was a Goalkeeper, centre back (Sakho allegedly our preferred option) and a back up striker. Liverpool said they wanted £30M for Sakho at the start of the window and 62 days down the line they still want £30M - in the interim if rumours are to be believed we've tried to do deal(s) but got knocked back. If he does sign and I seriously hope he does we'll pay £30M so we've achieved nothing through the protracted negotiations other than a whole load of pain and now being 0 points from 3 games. All the rumours today - no mention of a keeper that I've seen so are we just thinking of going with Henessey and Speroni - neither Premiership standard IMO - beyond that what happens if one gets injured? Strikers we have one fit - I like Wickham but he seems "wed locked" to the treatment table - irrespective of that we need and have done since the end of the season another striker. So all that in mind and I'm not stating anything that Parrish and FDB dont know - I'm seriously struggling to see a coherent plan and strategy. Look I hope I'm seriously wrong and there is a master plan in place - but if there is why has it taken us so long to put in play. Here's to the next 4 hours and hoping - COYP..!!!

Tbf he has got sakho for 24million (excluding the add-one) so that's a 6 million pound saving. Plus the wages saved since the 1st July (another million). That's why he leaves things to deadline day. Look at spurs, do all their business late to save money. I don't think Oumar Niasse is a world beater, but we need a striker to play second fiddle to Christian. He has scored goals in a poor Hull side, surely a better option that Frazier coming off the bench.

Agreed, although I'd personally rather we take a punt on a European striker with decent stats on a loan deal with option to buy. Munir or Cenk doesn't seem either will happen. So yeah it is good he's got goals under his belt with Hull and doesn't look to shabby on YouTube.

Assuming Niasse and Sakho sign, do we have our full complement of 25? Or do we still have the option to pick up a free agent, if one were to come along?

Everton fans all seem to see him the way we view Jordan Mutch, so I don't feel especially excited by this. However, sometimes if the face fits (and what a face )
