First off I don't blame Frank de Boer. I blame Steve Parish and the board for the lack of investments in this club in the Summer Transfer Window. 1 permanent signing and 2 transfer will not cut it. Now it will take a HUGE INVESTMENT to make our squad competitive. Second, Joel ward CANNOT PLAY RWB/RM 7 games we've seen this and yet nothing is done. FdB and SP should've recognized after the Liverpool game in Hong Kong yet nothing was done. Oh Tete didn't sign with or Veltman find somebody else. Third, ZERO depth at the Striker position and at the wings. It was eventually going to happen that Wilfried Zaha was going to get injured and the lack of depth at the Wings would be exposed. Now the exact same thing can and will eventually happen to Benteke if we don't sign at least 2 Strikers Fourth at Palace a place we have relative depth our Midfield depth is EFL Championship quality. Of course I'm speaking about Jason Puncheon and James McArthur. Both wonderful servants to the club but there time has passed unfortunately and we need improvement there to help RLC, Cabaye, and Luka. If we cannot sell them, Puncheon and McArthur need to be coming off the bench plain and simple. Fifth we need help in the Center Halve because Tomkins and Dann are not cuting it. We need Mamadou Sakho so we can play the ball quicker outta our defensive end into the attack with RLC, Wilf, Cabaye, and Benteke. Not to mention whomever we sign to give cover to Benteke. Lastly we need to sign a Quality Goalkeeper. Hennessey isn't cutting it plain and simple. Final thoughts I don't thing anything remotely like what I've described is even remotely close to happening. We're the only club that says to a new manager every time they come in take the Square Pegs and Pound them into that Round Hole. I don't think Steve Parish thinks we need a HUGE Investment because we bought 2 LBs and 1 CDM in January. I don't know how that helps at RWB, Wing depth, Striker depth, or even with a Goalkeeper, Oh wait it doesn't... S**T. Time to open the checkbook SP and the board FdB needs it or we're going down. Edited by BigNasty12 (27 Aug 2017 12.26am) In relation to transfers the policy this summer is due to the knock on effects of Jan. Infact this was one of the provisos for Sam joining. Personally thought the buying of both Schlupp and PVA was odd. Possibly could of got just one and had some more money to buy this summer. The unexpected departure of Sam threw a huge spanner in the works. In terms of the future suspect FdB will have 8-10 games. Looking at the performances if I was a betting man think he will get the chop, particularly as 3 of them look bankers for defeats. Also DF will be the next manager, for how long who knows ? Could easily be having 3 managers this season, which usually means relegation, altho Swansea managed it last season.

And several pundits/journos seem to agree - once we showed some balls and intent it was a different game. Of course we played better when we were 2-0 down. But that's not because we were actually better, it's just that Swansea sat back so of course we could come forward more. Even then, 90% of our chances were from outside area so not like we created clear chances

Must have imagined Cabaye's one-two with Punch that saw the ball nicked off his feet 8 years from goal and Chungy getting fouled in the box in almost the same spot when about to pull the trigger. Or Macca's off balance toe poke when one on one from about 10 yards. etc.
Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune) |

When a Manager calls his Players cowards in open forum that tells me he has lost the dressing room as he is openingly blaming his players for their match tactics and performance and not accepting that his management is partly to blame, additionally SP needs to get to grips with this on Monday and insist he changes his tactics to a more balanced approach, sell Andros for 27 mil to Leicester if rumour are true buy Sakho roughly for the same amount , then go out and buy a creative midfield player or 2 and a couple of forwards, without this Palace will be consigned to the Championship.

The first half the only cause both teams had was not to concede first and bored the s*** out of all of us. As the home team the onus was on us, but we looked uncomfortable and I have to agree with FdB scared. If his mention of this does upset the dressing room then we have an even weaker bunch of cowards than we thought. The manager has the right to speak as he finds and he is as frustrated as us and all of us are s*** footballers, it must be 20x worse for him. The midfield demands players that demand the ball and that means Cabaye in a 4-3-3. Edited by Dangermouse (27 Aug 2017 10.43am)

FdB may or may not be a wrong choice, but we haven't won at home on a regular basis since we came back up. So British managers aren't the answer either it seems. SP took ages to appoint FdB so to me it seems he was clearly agonising long and hard over whether to go this way and try to make cpfc a more attractive team. Problem was it cost us settling in time, time FdB needed to assess his squad. Thing is we'll all look back at this and laugh one day.

We're not at the end of the window yet and FDB needs to make best use what's available to him until that point. He's failed to do that in the most stubborn fashion. Simple as really. The two loan lads look really good players and I'd hazard a guess that Riedewald was a player he wanted.

Once they decided on Pellegrino, Frank needed a job. I said it should've been one of those 3 and not Frank, if it turned out this way, and when the 3-4-3 quotes came out, there was the conformation. We have a bit of hope if he stays 4 at the back and works on 3 in training like others do and surprise us like West Ham, but only full strength. Edited by Rudi Hedman (27 Aug 2017 11.13am)

Why did we only play 4 pre-season matches when trying to adapt to a new system? Should have played as many games as we could.
