Luka, Schlupp, PVA Seems to me that scouting has been pretty good. When they finally had some money, they spent well. People were shocked we got Cabaye. Take a look at the signings of other mid-table teams and they have signed far more expensive wash-outs than Palace. I'm very glad we spent 27Million on Benteke and not Slimani or Batshuayi.

I don't know why Burke is being touted as a winger, because he isn't one. If RB Leipzig have been trying him on the wing, that might explain why he hasn't had much success there. When he was at Forest, he looked the business: box-to-box breakout power running with the ball mostly through the middle, beating players, creating chances and scoring lots of goals. Exciting. Reminded me a bit of a young Norman Whiteside crossed with Lee Trundle. When Leipzig paid a reported £12m for him, I was miffed that we didn't go in for him, but.. The fact that he didn't explode in the Bundesliga has got me thinking: maybe he's one of those prodigies who doesn't improve with age, who goes backwards? I don't know. I haven't seen him play since he left the UK, but I'd have some reservations, seeing as no other Bundesliga team seems interested. I hope we scout him properly and that he still is the biz. If he's the same player who ripped up the crowds with Forest, I'd love to see him play for us.

If he really does have the potential that was getting people excited at Forest, then £16/18m could be a bit of a snip for an outstanding player? Or of course it could also turn out to be a gamble that doesn't come off?
